Cinematic effects is like the part when the tentacles smashes into the room and grabs the scientist.

That means that the entire Test Chamber part
(my favorite part of half life.)
is one big Cinematic effect, (since things happening around you things exploding, NPC’s screaming etc etc)

Or am i wrong?

No, that’s cinematic sequence. Cinematic effect are things like lens flares, bloom, motion blur or film grain.

New houndeyes sound awesome. They were pretty lame enemies in the original. Will they originally be shy toward you like in HL1, or are they more aggressive right off the bat?

Hey James, does attacking the houndeye no longer interrupt their charge? Because as someone stated before, I used to hit with the crowbar any charging houndeye.

Have you ever tried to hold it in? Only to have it explode everywhere…once the houndeye begins it wont wont stop until it is finished…

The updates to the Houndeyes sounds great, they’re actually a threat now, whereas before they were really harmless even in large groups. I hope they still have that cute playful side to them though, before they burst your eardrums.
