Cheap source for CS:S?

Hello,

i wanted to buy a CS: S account for my spare-PC, so my friends can play online together with me. Do you know any cheap sources for CS: S? I mean cheaper than the 20$ on Steam …
Thanks in advance!

nope.avi

lol… valve would NEVER sell any of their games on any other online store other than steam.

You could always try to get cheap retail copies.

Thanks Maxey, thats what i meant.
On pages like this:
https://www.cdkey-game.com/counter-strike-source-steam-key-p-626.html
you can get retail keys cheaper than normal (perhaps the friend vouchers can be sold, too?). I just wanted to know if somebody knows something cheaper than this.

Isn’t that illegal?

Why should it be illegal? Valve sold retail-copies of their games, and these sellers just give you the key from these packages. You can use such a key to unlock CS:S for your steam-account. So its just a simple retail-sell without the unneccesary DVD.

NEVER buy a used retail copy or retail key in general, unless it’s guaranteed new. You could be sold a key that was already used.

That’s exactly why I never by any steam game used

Thats why they sell unused keys.

Wait until there’s another midweek madnes or something featuring counterstrike source.
That’s how I raped myself twice. Bought games a day or two before they went at least 50% down in price.

Buying keys from sites like this is against the steam ULA and VALVe will ban your steam account if they find out. Besides the price that site lists is no cheaper than steam. Unless you live in EU. The most I could recommend is hoping a retailer near you needs to clear some inventory, or if you have a Rewards card at some shop.

Also think about it ?..

If you buy a key from them they can contact support and claim the account was stolen and using that same key they can “prove” they own the account.

It’s really really stupid to buy steam keys. > :frowning:

How would you know it was unused? It’s just a string of numbers and letters, there’s no way of knowing until you put it in.

I’d never trust a cd-key unless it came out of a wrapped retail box.

There’s this really nifty new invention called “lying”, and it allows somebody to claim something when that claim is totally false! AMAZING!!

In fact, you could be getting lied to by websites, just like the one you listed, RIGHT NOW!! AND YOU WOULDN’T EVEN KNOW IT!! Ain’t the future WONDERFUL?!

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
