Some one here might be able to help me. My CD drive was not being used so I switched it out for another hard drive, now I am in need of it but cannot get it to reconnect. Thanks for your time.
i guess you switched to a ide hard drive,so you might have screwed up while reconecting the cables.
check the jumpers on the drives to make sure there arent two conflicting master hard drives or master disc drives, and make sure the hard drives are on one ide cable and the cd drives on another
I believe the jumpers are correctly set, a single drive set to master, and the hard drive is on another cable as well.
And I don’t think I did felipedomaul.
put both on cable select and put the CD drive at the end of the cable
It detects the CD drive but not the hard drive and then it won’t boot.
problem detected: bad IDE cable go get a new one
Figures thanks, I’ll give that a try.
I think it is not a big problem. You can check the jumpers of your hard drive. You can also check it your CD drive in another system. You can also contact your hardware engineer.
