Not gonna happen. No room for the obligatory helicopter chase scene at the end.
cod is [COLOR=‘Red’]OVERRATED!!!
Well at least they stick to the same formula which gets them big bucks, and they don’t take anything out, except the stealth element in MW1 which I missed but it was in MW2, kinda.
Like Left 4 Dead 2? I’m also saying The Force Unleashed II
I stopped playing CoD when they stopped supporting the modding community. I can’t believe I modded that series for almost six years. We had built up a great community with many sites and wikis full of tutorials (it’s hard to mod CoD because it has such a primitive engine and shitty glitched modding tools).
Bastards.
Space doesn’t seem like a bad idea, I can picture myself running through a collapsing complex on the moon while gunning down terrorists in astronaut suits with my yoghurt white AK-47, and every time I reload the clip floats up in front of me, and the goal is to get to the control panel in time to press a big red button to launch some space shuttle or something, oh and at one point you get to control a minature moon buggy with a machine gun attached to front, kind of like this one has:
Halo used to be my most hated game of all time. But since Reach came out and actually had a fun multiplayer, CoD is now my most hated, not because of the game itself (although partly as it’s a load of shit) but the people who play it. Once they start playing it, their whole life becomes it. Conversation is nothing but how many kills they got on CoD last night. And then there’s the people who defend CoD saying “IT’S AN AMAZING GAME TOUCH IT RIGHT NOW” because they’re 5 years old and CoD is the only game other than Spyro that they have played…and the new spyros suck too
i want a further back in time cod. like american civil war or ww1 or somethin.g zulu war. itd be cool + the weapons could be interesting and shitty
They keep releasing the same old tried and true formula because the masses are willing to shell out money every year for the same crap, and will continue to do so until people get sick of it.
and i have heard(i have no source) that MW3 will use the same engine as MW2.
No surprise. It’s cheaper this way.
They basically recycle the game every time, many game models and textures I still recognize from previous games. More than half the animations of the game probably haven’t been changed since CoD2 and CoD4. Same goes for scripts and FX. Besides some updates in lighting the engine is pretty much the same as the one used for CoD2. This way they can pump out a new CoD within 2 years, since two studios work on the game that means one game per year. At full price of course.
He’s hit upon an intriguing idea.
Wait, what???
Halo 1-3 were pretty fun and Reach and ODST were utter shit.
Hah, cod never gets shinier graphics.
Well, the leap from 2 to 4 was pretty big graphically. Maybe not so much with the last few installments.

Some people like CoD, that’s cool and I’m ok with that, I just wish that it’s popularity didn’t cause other games to go from trying to be unique and instead trying to be CoD.
As a fun side note, I’m kinda surprised they aren’t updating the engine. I recognize that they have a massive fanbase of idiots, but those people tend to be attracted to pretty graphics, so you have to keep those pretty to keep them hanging around.
Who needs pretty graphics when you have a pretty name?
I personally think the biggest problem is that the CoD series is it is so incredibly stale. I really liked MW2, but that’s mostly because it was the first CoD I ever played. Once I played it to death I was instantly bored of all the other CoD’s I have now tried.
Kinda like how one of the reasons I didn’t like L4D2 as much as L4D1 was because being a sequel it lacked the originality. Now imagine L4D7. That’s what Black Ops is like.
Even a strict opinion can be argued. You can list the pros and cons and tell others how you balanced the pros and cons. Then, maybe, it’ll turn out they were just being a fan boy and never really did think about the pros and cons, just bought it and jizzed all over the screen.
Besides taking place in… you know… a completely different place, and having the best fucking gore ever.
I guess you can’t reuse the same theme over and retain originality.
