You know what would be great? If the next game is a straightforward WWII shooter without nazi space aliens or conspiracies or non-linear storytelling or anything.
I request a Call of Duty game where Hitler found a time machine left behind by aliens who lived on Earth prior to humans, and then he would travel forwards in time and take over an alien empire and then return to the time prior to WWI where he would rally his alien forces and ready himself to take over the world. Then it would be WWI soldiers vs aliens. Is that different enough?

Well, the seals do more than just underwater demolition. You could argue that any one of a number of WWII groups is the equivalent of modern navy seals.

The UDT were a Navy initiative, US Navy SEALs are also, SEALs are one of the few special force outfits (if not only) in the US military that specialize in naval operations (And I mean more so than MARSOC).
The UDT badge is a trident, anchor and a flintlock pistol, SEAL “Budweiser” (Apparently named after BUD/S course) is the same with an addition of an Eagle.
Yeah, the UDTs are totally not their direct precursor. Especially since operations on Okinawa and Iwo Jima were purely the shore landings and Japanese surrendered the moment Americans reached the shore.
Call of Duty: Jurassic Panic … make that happen. With pre-human ancestor of Price (who save the fur, looks exactly the same) The game’s killstreaks would consist of a sack full of turds which can be thrown at enemies, having effect similar to nova gas, among other fancy things. The protagonist’s only trusted friend would of course be none other than a tame Dino that could be used for hunting of lesser species (like other Dinosaurs and prehistoric men) and for travel of course.
The UDTs are the direct seal precursor. After the early 80’s all UDTs were merged into seal teams.
