Black ops had a great single player campaign, which was unique for treyarch. MW and MW2 had ok stories. These games are being primarily released for multi player content as they can charge extra for DLC which is why oldfag gamers like myself think they are pretty lame. What is sad is when games like Crysis start to emulate the COD style of gameplay. Thats when I start to hate them.
Thats probably because Treyarch has not been infected by the IW virus.
I suppose that Ghosts is a new series in the CoD franchise. Anyways waiting for what they have to show on the new Xbox reveal.
They haven’t also been hit with major layoffs of their most talented staff.
Or driving the two heads of the company out.
How new and exciting!!! The Call of Duty series is truly one of the most innovative and creative series in this world! And I for one am very excited to see CoD in 2008 graphics!
2008?! HOLY SHIT!
That would be so nice.
It would also give them freedom to give the player freedom.
You hit the nail on the head right here. MW1 & 2 just had the greatest map designs in my opinion. All of them, even the dlc maps were so memorable. The killstreak system hit its peak with 2 and then slid down a shit slide thereafter.
Black cops and onward is just totally uninspired map design. I hope Respawn entertainment (whatever they’re working) blows cod out of the water.
I call bullshit. You have probably never have been hit by a clan of noobtubes at the start of a game do you?The map design in MW2 may be better, they’re still way to small.BO maps are ugly indeed, but they we’re bigger.
I agree, MW2 was the peak, even if it topped the first Modern Warfare for an inch.
Battlefield kinda ruled the genre until they … well… “BALANCED” the game so that 556 does ultimately MORE damage than anything else.
The 7.62x39 of the Sa. Vz. 58 still shows the 5.56x45 NATO where it can shove itself. And before someone starts going “Hahaha AK copy”, NO. It’s an actual Czechoslovak design coming out of the German StG 44, which in turns comes from MP43 and MKb42(H), which in turn is an upside-down Czechoslovak Zb Vz 26 (BREN gun, yo).
Worst thing about CoD = small maps… throw a grenade/knife or shoot from launcher all over the map, await a kill ._. not to mention the amount of explosions is overwhelming. But I must say, Black Ops campaign was the most enjoyable for me from the newer games and multiplayer had the best weapons&perks&killstreaks imo. it were again just the maps that sucked, they need to hire better level designers definitely.
:hmph:
How about some images?
…
I dont think thats needed. They just need to get rid off all the close minded leading developers.
Pictures of what? The Sa-58? The Zb-26? Just google it?
Zb 26 looks just like a BREN gun. Hell, the namesake is from BRno and ENfield, the armory that sold and the armory that bought the design. As for the MKb, it simply is so. And look, they upgraded every damn thing from Czechoslovak technology.
And THEN, my nation went full dumb in the past few years. How am I supposed to be proud of it when the president is a drunken insulting asshole? I wish T.G.M. wasn’t six feet under.
Now that I’ve had my “yell at everyone YARR” moment, I agree with Dotard. But small maps aren’t the only reason. It’s the ultimately overpowered AC-130-esque thing in BO2 that ultimately fucked the game up for me. And it managed so on the damn FREE WEEKEND when I played for unbelievable THREE HOURS.
Also aint it MP44?As in Maschinenpistole 44?
The Germans felt they needed a more totally awesomely badass name for the ultimate firearm that was supposed to win them the war… so they renamed it from Maschinenpistole (“Submachinegun”) to Sturmgewehr (literally “Assault rifle”), hence the StG44 designation, rather than the MP44 designation.
Would be nice if Ghosts returned the MP to pre-MW2 levels of simplicity, where good players didn’t quickly turn the match to their side with all the unfair remote controlled crap and with bigger, more open ended levels.
Am I the only one who thinks thats bullshit?Every year millions of morons & 9 year olds buy it.How the fuck can you suddenly get into an economic crisis when you get more money than development costed.
Holy shit, how much of a close minded fucker can you be.
Oh man the StG was such a badass gun. I only know this shit because I’ve always been a big fan of the Red Orchestra games, and their historical accuracy when it comes to weapons research is unparalleled. The Germans’ weapons are so much better than the Russians’.
The MP40 always felt a bit like a ‘pew pew’ gun to me, though.
Not sure if I sense a truckload of sarcasm…
