So they had a demo of this game at Microsoft’s press conference. It looks terrible. I saw a lot of blurry textures even at the 600p that they’re running at. And the gameplay is same old same old. I was getting a little bit interested in this game but that demo destroyed whatever interest I had.
Still better than the Crysis 3 demo
The game was laughable. The best part was when they attempted to make the game non-linear by giving two blatantly marked options “Snipe” or “Repel” when the two options were just different tactics for a single battle in a single area, not a choice between separate paths. At least they’re trying, but they’re just failing even worse in the process.
It’s as if the first Crysis was a mere coincidence manifested upon throwing a shit ton of ideas, stuffed into a garbage can, at a wall.
And they’ve been trying to recreate it but have failed miserably.
Or they’ve fallen into the black hole that is linear FPS and can’t seem to escape, no matter how hard they try.
That was one scenario. Hopefully other times you get to choose, the options are more unique.
I’m not holding my breath for it, but it would be nice if they actually did it.
It is dumb how they were labeled though.
A cod game that has gameplay that is actually more than point and shoot?
Wow. Color me interested, even if it’s not in my must have list
Im not a military shooter kinda guy but Medal of Honors new game looks much better than CoD… but i already know it wont have a multiplayer community to support it
Okay, I’m going to need some explanation on this. It says in the article in a quote that they’ve abandoned DX9 for DX11 (thus abandoning XP) but the minimum requirements is an 8800GT, which I’m sure is not a DX11 (or even DX10) card.
That being said, I’m thinking of picking this up just to show that I support what they’re doing. The game is already going to sell like hotcakes but still. It surprises me that CoD of all things is one of the few games that has dropped DX9 support (at least Treyarch’s game), which should start becoming more common.
The new renderer was coded in DX11 but since DX11 is backwards compatible, it can run on DX9 cards. However, XP doesn’t support anything beyond DX9, so that’s why they had to drop support.
Besides, XP is 11 years old. At some point support for it has to drop.
Ah, okay. I had heard that DX11 and DX10 was backwards compatible but not DX9. That makes sense.
Huh. That actually looks like very interesting gamemode.
I’m never going to buy a Call of Dookie game. It’s overpriced for years (seen MW2 go for $80 around 2011), and the fan base are nothing but 6 year old’s in disguise playing with toys.
Gee whiz, mister, thanks for your insightful post!
Who is this guy?
Im totally gonna torrent this game! (for teh zombies)
Holy crap, thank you for opening my eyes kind stranger. I will never forget this. I’m also loling2themax at that pun you made  .
