So… yeah…

It all looks so oldschool bungie. Like, 90s Bungie. Pre-Halo. Fine by me 100%

Sounds like those MMO rumors may be true. I’m seeing some clear implications of a class system here, too.

We’ll see what happens. It looks intriguing maybe, but it’s still far too early to tell.

I’m not too thrilled with the whole Activision thing though.

“Fun and accessible to all,” eh? That could mean anything. Definitely does feel like an MMO, though, particularly with all the emphasis on social stuff.

It looks pretty cool in any case, but like everyone else just said, it’s probably too early to tell.

The pics are enticing, and it seems like an awesome concept, but it’s too early tell. Ill give it a shot probably.

Bungie needs a publishing contract. In the immortal words of Bogdan, “What are [they] to do? Hmm? What are [they] to do?”

I was hoping it’d be another Marathon. .(

Well, they did re-acquire the rights to Marathon. Apparently there is a project going on, and no more than 9 employees can work on it while Destiny is in production.

Does anyone else see that “Activision” logo in the bottom right corner?

Great, another studio is about to be run into the ground…

It’s been known from the start that Bungie made a publishing agreement with Activision for their new game.

But as far as I know, they remain an independent studio, unlike Infinity Ward or Treyarch.

Bungie just got off from making Halo. Need I say this again HALO. Microsofts flagship software that one could argue is the reason for the success of an entire platform. If you think they came out of that making shitty deals with publisher you got to think again. Bungie’s contract with Activsion is probably very Bungie sided, leaving Bungie all sorts of creative room. They made HALO any publisher is probably to blinded by the sight of $$$ to want to risk losing a contract that Bungie could EASILY go to any other publisher they wanted and make.

Don’t worry about Bungie they have mad leverage.

Halo has been an XBOX exclusive all along so I’m not surprised that Bungie needs help to make a PS3 version possible.

Not hard to just hire a few experienced PS3 programmers. It’s not like they’re a rare breed or something.

Activision is only there to give them money and publish/market the game.

Meh. I’m not too worried about Bungie. The game looks like it’s going to be kickass.

I’ve consistently heard that the PS3 is very difficult to program for.

I think developers have had more than enough time to get used to it by now.

Most multiplats haven’t blown chunks on the PS3 anymore for quite some time.

Well, except Call of Duty.

I’ve also heard a ton of complaints about Skyrim DLC not being available on the PS3.

That’s because Bethesda have always had the worst engine programmers.

Guys, they’ve had calls out for PS3 programmers over two years ago. I think they’re covered.

Also, the contract (leaked to the public and still available if anyone wants to see it) gives Bungie quite a bit of freedom with this game. A ton actually. Basically, they’re just funneling money into the IP and Bungie can do whatever the fuck they want with it. The only thing shady about it is that Activision has the right to cut off Bungie if they don’t sell enough units in the first six months.

Interesting tit-bits

More of this shit

oh god that spelling

What I’d like to know is who had the time to come up with all that?

Seriously, though; if they’ve been planning for this for that long, it’d be amazing. I love a good ARG.
