Bullguard: Anti-virus, or a virus itself?

Just a few minutes ago I changed my VGA cable because the last one was giving me color problems. When I turned my PC on after that, Bullguard opened itself (I got it as a free trial with the PC) and then it opened lots of Firefox windows and tabs all going to this site.
While this was going on, I wasn’t able to open any programs or use the taskbar at all.

So what’s your thoughts on this?

I don’t know but get rid of it anyway. Then install either Avast! Free or Microsoft Security Essentials.

I’ve already uninstalled it.

Malwarebytes works fine for me, I was just wondering if Bullguard actually is a virus.

You probably have an illegal version.
I don’t recommend asking the Black Mesa Community for help though, try contacting Bullguard instead.
The only thing that Bullguard bothers me with is that they like to block my Adobe installations.

It came with my PC so I don’t exactly know.

I recommend you uninstall the current Bullguard build, and download the official trial from bullguard.com
What do you mean that Bullguard opens itself though?
The configuration window, or it just starts in the background?

Yeesh, that’s rough.

I use ESET NOD 32 for my anti-virus. Very secure without being as difficult with system load as something like Norton.

It opened a window asking me to buy it since it was just a trial.

I’ve not had any problems with closing that window and turning off Bullguard before yesterday.

I still recommend you uninstall it, and get a official download from bullguard.com
If its a used computer, it can contain virusses

These are the only two tolerable AVs I’ve used.

I have to recommend Avira. It’s free, and aside from the occasional pop-up telling you to buy the full version, it’s by far the most robust antivirus program out there and can catch just about anything, while being very lightweight.

You’d think Chuck Norris would be more polite and actually give a sensible opinion and suggestion.

Bullguard came with my PC as well, I wasn’t brought to a webpage, but it didn’t do shit. Anyway, I dunno, I’m using McAfee Internet Security.

Yeah uninstall it, get AVG or Norton or something.

AVG is horrible, it never detected real viruses.

oh god

the trifecta of shit antiviruses

avg, norton and mcafee. We’re only missing symantec.

Did I miss something here?

No, I love to post things out of context.

Actually there was some clown who registered under the name Chuck_Norris and posted here under the guise of (badly) impersonating him, so I pretty much replied to each one of his posts in the style I performed above.

Why did you bump a 2 year old thread? :expressionless:
