Bulletstorm

Despite this fact, it does.

Yes and Half-Life sucks because Castle Wolfenstein was already an FPS.

It doesn’t suck because it is vaguely like borderlands (it really isn’t) it sucks because its dull, tedious, and linear as hell.

I personally really enjoy the game. It will certainly keep my attention for a long time. And I assume the ending was done like that for 2 reasons

The first is the fact that they wanted to make a sequel, and I can see why! This game must have been a blast to create; Writing ridiculous swear-riddled dialogue and funny jokes within the game, shit I wish I could of helped design it!

The second is the fact that this game is made by People can Fly. This means that all bosses are not bosses unless they are fucking ginormous. In Painkiller, the bosses were MASSIVE, TO THE POINT WHERE I WOULD SHOUT “WHAT THE FUCK” WHEN I SAW ONE. And I assume that a boss against a general would be piss easy and boring because he isn’t like the other spectacular bosses in the game. That, and it goes against their style of bosses.

I bet in Bulletstorm 2/Bulletstorm DLC, the final boss will be Ishi and there will be mass destruction and explosions while the general uses that colorful vocabulary of his. :awesome:

I thought you were going to actually get to fight the giant dinosaur thing, I even went to bed to play it the next day cause I couldn’t be arsed to fight in what I thought would be an uber boss battle at 1AM.

However when I started playing that level the game was like “LOL no, fly around in a helicopter and shoot things.”

Oh

This game has too many cutscenes, too many pointless weapons and the same enemy EVERYWHERE. They made Duty Calls to take the piss out of CoD and point out the flaws in new fps games. And they did this well. But then they just went and made a game which was pretty much the exact same.

Bulletstorm isn’t necessarily innovative. But then again, what in the FPS genre has been truly innovative? Deus Ex was probably the last time anyone really shook up the genre.

I’ve played through the campaign once and a half, and I may be in the minority here, but I enjoyed myself. The variety came from the various ways to kill the enemies in game- kicking them into spikes, rotating fans, helicopter blades, using a laser whip to bring them towards you and then kick them off a ledge “300” style, sticking them with a grenade and then kicking them into a group of their friends before blowing him up, kicking off pieces of their armor to allow yourself to subsequently mag dump up their asshole, the list goes on.

Is it crass? Yes, it’s got dialog written like a 13 year old trying to rewrite “The Departed” with none of the sophistication and no Jack Nicholson strap-on ad-libs.

Is the main protagonist indefensible? In a way, yes. He mindlessly followed a very obviously evil general and killed some people he shouldn’t have, and also put his crew in danger to get revenge. He regrets it by game’s end in a half-hearted attempt at character development, but Grayson Hunt is still one of gaming’s biggest assholes next to Kratos of God of War fame.

Is it fun? Hell yes. It’s the perfect “got home after a bad day, time to blow shit up” game. It was worth a rent.

Except this gets boring very quickly as there are limited ways in which to kill people. In fact for the first few levels I couldn’t find many creative ways to kill people at all. Their whole slogan was that they were going to put the fun back into FPS shooters and they could’ve achieved it but instead of just making a shoot 'em up game with no real point apart from to be fun, they made a game with flashy numbers, scenery in which you don’t have time to see, half of the game is just cutscenes and a storyline in which is both stupid and pointless.

Oh and saying “Cocking blowjob fuckers” is now apparently comedy genius.

I really was liking the game until I got a few levels in and I was still fighting the same enemy. It’s a shame as it could’ve been good.

Like I said. It’s a rental, not a game you should own.

That’s your fault. I found tons and tons of different skillshots. There are well over 100, so I dunno what your issue with finding them was.

It not an issue of finding them, its an issue of them all being ultimately the same. There is absolutely no difference between shooting a guys legs of or shooting his head off, between throwing a guy into a spiky wall or into an electrified wall. Its all the same, send flying, shoot, throw into object.

Mostly that half the enemies you can’t kick or use the leash on

I am playing through it for a second time and concentrating more on the storyline this time…it’s more enjoyable that way.

Actually the “target too fast” people you supposedly can’t leash- use the sticky bomb launcher. The chain wraps around the target immobilizing him. Then you can whip him and then kick him into his friends for a new skillshot.
Not sure on the name, I think it was “Homie Missile.”

Never thought of this…probably cause that thing is stupidly fiddly to use

See? You need to experiment!

Doesn’t improve the game at all.

for the ones that are “target is too fast” for the leash, its a pretty simple fix… shoot them once, they stumble back… gives you a brief period where they can be leashed. as for not being able to find any skillshots i’d agree thats on the player not the game, i ended with a very small handful of times where i just gunned them down, getting various skillshots wasn’t very hard for me.

still cant get over how bad the voice for Ishi is though…

I like the voice for Ishi…

And there is one bit of bulletstorm where IShi kicks this thing which knocks down a building and there’s just a pause for a bit then “It is unbelievable how stupid you are”

I lol’d

Actually, I think Hunt kicked down a pillar in the way and it set off a string of physics objects falling and eventually an explosion that levels the face of an entire building. With ONE kick.

Then the above line. That scene was awesome =D

Yes it was hunt, got confused with the names there…
I think the game needs more Waggleton P Taddylicker…having a robot dinosaur with laser eyes is always fun.

dammit, my crack doesn’t work, i hear a tiny bit of the start, and it crashes, giving me a “Bulletstorm encountered a problem and needs to close” :frowning: is there any parameters i can set to remove the title?
