Okay so, I use 2 partitions, one for vista, which came with my computer, and the other for win7. So one day I decide my win7 partition is too small, so I go dick around in the partition thing, but I accidently(not accidently at all!) made my win7 partition my primary one.
Okay so thats good let me just restart the computer and
Oops the win7 partition has no bootmanager. Turns out it installed its bootmgr somewhere in the VISTA partition and that kinda stuff.
Now when I try to boot, it gives me a nice COULDN’T LOCATE BOOTMGR message.
So I think there are 2 solutions for this one
Solution 1
Setting the primary(active) partition back to the vista one.
I’d like to do this. I only have access to BIOS and a win7 repair disk I burned (doesn’t repair very well) that comes with the command console. I’d wager there is some command trickery that would allow me to change partition stuff. I’d like to know if that exists.
Solution 2
Creating a bootmgr for the Win7 partition.
I tried to do this. I got all these bootdongs /fixshit commands from google. They didn’t really work, and the drive letters are flipped, win7 drive used to be Z: and now its C:? and C: is D:? what is going on i am confus. So some step by step instructions would be nice (i can get to the console fine, thank you)
why am i asking this here?
