Which do you prefer Black Mesa or Half life 2 story line?

Firstly, wrong forum. Secondly, eh? The Black Mesa storyline is the same as HL1 so that’s a really weird question.

Same universe but not the same story.
HL1/BM : You, physicist in a fancy lab launch the apocalypse and try to survive against aliens, soldiers and a giant flying baby.

HL2 : you, hero of the resistance in a post apocalyptic world fight against alien oppressors and become a symbol of the human race.

Well, the first time I played Black mesa I was just looking for the regular stuff in the HL1 story but by the third time I played it I could see all the little details the devs put in, like the revamped on a rail or the hints of the combine on xen. That really fleshed out the story for me, not to mention all the easter eggs i found. But as good as it was, I still liked the HL2 story more. I mean c’mon, alyx’s ass in those HE11A tight jeans!!!111111!one!!!1!! You gotta love that :wink:

Black Mesa isn’t out yet so I will replace it with Half Life 1. I think Half Life 2 has a much stronger storyline but I can’t really say i prefer either. They’re both fun and there’s things in both games I prefer to the other.

If I really had to choose though I’d pick HL1 as I find it more fun as a game whereas HL2 is better as a storytelling game.

If I really had to choose, I’ll go with HL1 but HL2 story is way more developed.

Personally, I preferred the suspense and sense of survival the first game delivered, but the overall characters and story progression of 2 was better.

I prefer HL2 tbh, I just finished it again 2 days ago, every time I build a new PC out of spare parts I replay HL2, if it’s playable
