Except Half-Life wasn’t released in this decade, Eric.

:awesome:

You better hand in your geek card Fong 8)

GEEK CARD?? :fffuuu:

Don’t tell me you’ve been operating without a geek card all this time, Eric.

Any bets they actually meant to put Deus Ex as #1, but then confused it with the sequel?

:frowning:

Off topic? A Black Mesa thread? Never! :retard:

cool nickname bro

Wow, someone actually wrote ‘OK’ correctly :awesome:
I usually don’t because people think I’m shouting it in a jack-assed sort of way…

Anyway, on topic, yes I enjoyed the pictures far more than the article. Now lets hope we can get those in high-def.

I was hoping Panda had them. :frowning:

Also, ‘OK’ isn’t spelled ‘OK’ at all, it’s ‘okay’.

OK is correct too.

In the article they talked about how it opened the flood gate for indie games to be popular again. It’s pretty true, cause indie games are huge on Steam now and it pretty much all started with Audiosurf exploding in popularity.

While that makes sense, that still doesnt make it a superamazingspectacular game though. It just deserves a pat on the back, not #3 of the decade. :meh:

Well maybe they should’ve made it most influential GOTD
And what would’ve made you happy with the rankings? Deus ex is pretty fucking good, and games in general are pretty bad. okay the sequel isn’t as good but

Yes, but that doesn’t mean it should be in the top ten for games of the decade. Most people who read that article simply see “Games Of The Decade” and assume that the authors think AudioSurf is one of the best games of the past TEN years!

Besides, didn’t CS and Garry’s Mod beat them to it?

Those would be mods, not Indie Games.

And the mod community was up and going way before CS and Garry’s Mod.

Some of the most popular mods ever were created in the Quake days, like Team Fortress. CS is still the one most successful as a mod, though, I believe.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
