Black Mesa Research Facility ARG?

this is awesome :o

OK this formula is driving me insane trying to search for it, someone please tell me what it is.

That would be:

“The equation for a “space-time interval” is s² = c²Δt² - Δr², where c is the speed of light, Δt is the difference between the time coordinates of two events (the temporal separation), and Δr is the difference between the space coordinates between the two events (the spatial separation).”

That’ll be the formula for the portal then, I’d believe.

Spacetime entails a new concept of distance. Whereas distances in Euclidean spaces are entirely spatial and always positive, in special relativity, the concept of distance is quantified in terms of the space-time interval between two events, which occur in two locations at two times:

(spacetime interval),

where:
c is the speed of light,
Δt and Δr denote differences of the time and space coordinates, respectively, between the events.

(Note that the choice of signs for s2 above follows the Landau-Lifshitz spacelike convention. Other treatments reverse the sign of s2.)
Space-time intervals may be classified into three distinct types based on whether the temporal separation (c2Δt2) or the spatial separation (Δr2) of the two events is greater.
Certain types of worldlines (called geodesics of the spacetime) are the shortest paths between any two events, with distance being defined in terms of spacetime intervals. The concept of geodesics becomes critical in general relativity, since geodesic motion may be thought of as “pure motion” (inertial motion) in spacetime, that is, free from any external influences.

The coordinates 33.193 -106.583 in the video point to the “White Sands Missile Complex”:

edit: bah! nevermind…

They’re watching us…

Can anyone find the name of the Test Center Commander of White Sand Missile Range?

New things to play with

Applying for a job under the name of George Antheil and reference of Olivia Wilkins gets you some interesting emails!

One is from Olivia with a link to an employment pdf (https://blackmesaresearchfacility.com/forms/EmploymentApplicationForm.pdf).

The second is from Aperture Science:

"I’m not sure why you are trying to do what you are doing, but let me assure you I represent other interested parties who would like you to succeed.
We have managed to upload a file to their server which you might find useful if you can find an external gateway to the BM intranet.
https://blackmesaresearchfacility.com/forms/daisy_bell.html "

This then leads through to a GLsDOS console…

Yay for stuff!

And why is this in the cafeteria? It has nothing to do with the mod.

It is most likely intentional.
For instance, all “contact” links, including the redirection after you apply for a job, go to https://blackmesaresearchfacility.com/contact.html, which looks like a regular 404 page ; However, it’s the only page which displays this particular message. For all other pages, it’s the standard Apache server 404 error : try https://blackmesaresearchfacility.com/whatever.html.

I didn’t find any info on the fake 404 page, though, but it’s most likely not a placeholder.

I typed in my real name and said gordon freeman referred me. It quickly flashed a picture of the G-Man and then the page 404’d

Edit: It looks as though it flashes to the picture of G-man regardless.

Huh. Odd that clicking on a link from a “blackmesaresearchfacility.com” link takes you to an Aperture Science page with a GLaDOS console. Would Black Mesa really have been that thoroughly infiltrated that they would from their own server be redirecting prospective hires to their top competitor? Heh.

Has anyone Filled out the Application and sent it back? I can’t because I don’t have a printer.

You’re not supposed to print it anyway. It says right on the form:

Wow that’s indeed some great stuff, but why does Hedy Lamarr not work? She was George’s neighbor after all and well has quite her place in the Half-life universe.

Not related to the mod.

Waste of time.

Another transmition:

More things!

Mr Nerftron’s blog: https://nerftron.blogspot.com/, obtained from the youtube profile page.

There’s a link on there leading to a set of photos. One is some tasty headcrab roadkill, and another of two peoples’ shadows. This has another link to a video Nerftron had on his camera with some strange audio…

gets to work!

I was wondering that myself. Shouldn’t this be under the Half-life series?

pinged the website, went to the IP got a secure server, found the mailing server now trying to figure out the password for Olivia Wilkin’s e-mail. There was also an option to unlock IP’s because when you originally go to the ip it says it’s blocked, when you enter your IP it gives you a 480 number to call
