Black Mesa is released!

Oh yes, I’m sure they are busy getting the second part of the mod finished. And thanks.

Just got the file downloaded and about to install, 3.07 Gigs, big file, hehe. Waited a long time for this, so great for it to finally be here. Going to replay Half-Life I for the first time ever right now, only played it through one time in 1998 when it came out, and was blown away by it. Have been a fan ever since, and have played Half-Life II, as well as both episode expansion packs. Now eagerly awaiting Episode 3, and Half-Life III after that.

Well, off to install and play the mod!

Sweet! Now that I’m older, have a job, and don’t play video games any more.

lol just kidding, i can’t wait.

Stop waiting and play it now

I really recommend playing it now while they’re still doing the last chapters. Even if its not complete, its still a game in its own right

Boner : throbbing.
Torrent: downloading

Will edit later

(jk bout the boner thing but I mean come on Wooohooo!!)

I nearly gave up on this. Words can’t describe how I felt when I discovered it yesterday. I’m currently at the ‘office complex’ level. With the subtle changes in the levels and the new puzzles it’s as difficult and occasionally as slightly frustrating as when I first played it. I love this game! Thank you so much for this remake!

:freeman:

Syex

Also the test chamber was Epic!

[COLOR=‘Red’]Some moderators were continuously deleting shitposts in here, and I also did it by myself.
I hope it was the last time.

From now, Infractions will be issued along the shitpost removal. Be warned.

I am, for one, waiting for the final part of Black Mesa before playing it for a number of reasons:

  1. In my free time I have plenty of other fine games to play, if I so like

  2. The missing chapters will make the game complete

  3. By the time the final chapters are released, there will likely be fixes made to correct those bugs that have been so far reported

Good luck to the BM team and thanks for your invaluable work!

You are however missing out on providing your own feedback and possible glitch/bug report, for them to improve things you didn’t like/were bothered by.

True. I am not contributing any feedback.

On the other hand, this mod’s been actively played by so many that the lack of my input is negligible. Bugs are going to surface anyway and indeed they have.

Even though it was buggy in places it’s still one of the absolute best mods I’ve played. Once Xen and DM are in, it would certainly earn a place among my favorite games in general, not just mods. I respect your decision to wait, but you might be waiting a while.

I am sure Black Mesa is a great mod to be played in its present state.

I just think that it can be even better later on and I don’t mind waiting some more time. After all, it took several years to reach this point. Even if I have to wait a couple of years more, it’ll be worth it. Of course, if there was no intention to complete it and/or patch it, it’d be a different story.

any news on when are we going to get the “xen” expansion or blue shift and opposite force?

Sorry Sir. We have no new news to offer regarding the Xen/Multiplayer project or the Steam Greenlight process. Please stay tuned though and happy fragging!

Stop bloody asking about Blue Shift and Opposing Force remakes - they do not and will not work on them because they are already being developed by different teams. Search for “Operation Black Mesa” and “Guard Duty”.

I forgot to post after I finished the game. Just wanted to say Good Job and thanks it was fun.

I began to wonder how many people downloaded and played with Black Mesa by now… I am sure it’s a record among mods.

Also I just realised I haven’t played with Black Mesa for 2-3 weeks, didn’t have time and waiting for a fix as well. Ah never mind me, gona play it again, as soon as I get home in a couple of days.

WoW Catz, you are back! Gotta say you did a perfect job with the BM Transit System. With your voice the start gives an “All right, this is going to be cool…” feeling.

We all Thank you very much!

I have hope that one day this Black Mesa and on Steam, on the other hand, I also hope Xen news on Black Mesa, and the multiplayer function, and if possible, the training track of Black Mesa, I’d be happy if they say that this developing the missing parts of the game so that Black Mesa is recognized as such, a remake that marked my childhood, and that of others. although I can wait.

–also about Operation Black Mesa and Guard Duty–

Just joined up to say thank you.
A lot of people have clearly gone to huge efforts to replicate the experience, and it really works - I felt the same awe, excitement, frustration and trepidation as I remember all those years ago, only this time tempered with nostalgia.

Hell, even the ladders are as bloody annoying as I remember them.

Well done, and thank you so very, very, very much.

I just downloaded and started to play Black Mesa and wow, i cant believe what i am seeing
You guys are unbelievable, what a work…what a perfection, its missing link in Half Life universe. Now i will play everything again from start. This round up my Steam Half Life collection and i am soooo happy
Thank you, thank you…
