i finished it like a month ago and have to say i had no problems with it, words can not describe how pleased i was with it

Just like the problem I currently have with Half-Life 2 –
I don’t want to finish to the end of the game because I don’t want one of the most amazing things I’ve ever played to end! I really am also happy because being a thirteen year-old kid and my parents considering September too close to Christmas for me to buy Half-Life,I really appreciate this coming out.
Just joined to say how gobsmacked I am with this awesome achievement. You have all managed to capture the amazing experience that was the original and put in some twists to make things fit within the source engine. I’m currently at “on a rail” and having so much fun. There really are not enough superlatives to describe this mod. By a MILE the best mod I have ever played and beats some of the modern full price games too!
Finished playing Black Mesa a few weeks back and want to say it’s one of the best mods I’ve ever played. 
Top-quality work all the way through, everything is so polished and refined, you can tell a great deal of time and effort was put into this by real Half-Life fans. And the mod has nice difficulty, too. None of that wimpy console hand-holding stuff, just a real first-person shooter game challenge, the way it ought to be.
Thanks to the whole team for a great mod, can’t wait for part 2 to see Xen and maybe there will be a special secret area we can find where we can at least smack the creepy government guy before the game ends. =P
Had to register to say thank you. just played all the way through much to my partners dismay as i kept saying 1 more hour, then i found the lab screen with the messages… well i had to wait to read all 3 pages then move onto the next part like the lazer. once i found it i then had to find everything that it would burn… this is how my day has gone.
i cant explain how much i love this mod and i have been waiting since the web page first went up

I played Black Mesa in september as soon as i could and i can say it was more then i expected. One of the best mods i’ve have played.
It really feels like an game made with a high budget.

I just finished playing it. It blew my mind! This is not a mod, it’s a full game of professional quality. And it gave me the same exciting feeling as the original did.

i got pretty disapointed with Black-Mesa, i was waiting for a revised, renovated and revisioned gameplay experience, Black-Mesa is just half-life combined with half-life2, the gameplay and many areas remained the same, i really hoped to see a more realistic gameplay, better plot elements, maybe a some good twist but the final product is no more than half-life plus “better” graphics, was so hard to put some stealth or at least cover elements, the soldiers are godlike, the final fights of the game are way unbalanced, no health, monsters every where, no cover, in my opinion Black-Mesa was worse than hl2.
Yeah, that was the idea, also it’s not even a game, it’s just a mod, it has it’s limitations, you expect way too much out of things. Especially for something that took hard work and they didn’t ask for a single dime.

This was kinda disrespectful, in my opinion. They spent eight whole years on this, detailing every possible nook and cranny, polishing every last detail, and all you have to say is basically, “Black Mesa sucks.” There wasn’t ONE good thing about this excellent mod? I smell a troll.

Well I’ve just heard of this project in like 3 days ago. And I was super excited because I have been a half life fan for a long time.
Maybe it seemed like I had to high expectations to this because this is only a mod, but I was super excited.
And then I played it and I must say: oh my fucking god. sorry for swearing.
But only thing that suits it. This is simply epicly amazing. So detailed… So true to the original one. I completed the game in 2 days playing almost the whole days just because it was so epic. And I’m definitely going to play it again!
So I really want to give all the developers contributing on this project a BIG THANKS for this amazing gift!
I will tell everyone I know. From now on I will be that irritating guy trying to get “hey do u know about the black mesa project” into every sentence.

They remade every piece of the every map in half life.
They made it work with source engine which also has far better physics than half life 1 and half life 1 source.
They made tons of models and sounds.
For FREE.
