Black Mesa is released!

amaaaaazing so far! it’s everything it should be

be proud, devs!

You could adjust your audio settings for your music issue? Just a thought.

Absolute astonishing, I can’t describe how awesome the mod looks.

Awesome so far  It’s a blast of nostalgia, and yet it’s all fresh, new and different! Love the new routes through the maps. The detail is gorgeous and really, really deep - the test chamber looks fantastic, especially once the testing starts  Everything feels slightly more difficult - the zombies are harder, possibly due to the crowbar range being shorter? Headcrabs seem more lively and feel a little harder to “swat” because of it. My first encounter with both the vort and houndeye almost made me shat myself  The houndeye effects are gorgeous.

EDIT: Should also mention the audio - I’m playing on a 5.1 headset here, and it sounds perfect  Machine noise, humming in the background, environmental effects - all very nicely done

Still haven’t finished Anomalous Materials yet, but feeling really tired! Still, a stunning job so far guys - really, really impressed  Obviously a long way to go, but so far you’ve exceeded my expectations by some way - awesome job by everyone on the team

Thanks for an amazing mod  You’ve done yourselves, Gordon, and Valve proud  I hope Gabe is playing this right now…

When will the game be released on STEAM?

Nobody knows yet, stay tuned.

I feel the nostalgia as I’m able to remember all of the facility, but the new puzzles maake it a new experience!!

762MB seeded

playing it, everything maxed out. All I can say is

OH.

MY.

GOD.

From my post in the Black Mesa thread in Steam forums:

Office Complex finally after around of 1: 30 minutes… the game looks amazing, very detailed, the classic scripts are still here, also a few classic voice lines, textures and modellings looks most of the times in a extremely high level… I´m a BIT dissapointed with Eli voice acting also, but well… just a “small” detail… Im missing also some of the classic sound fx´s…

The Gameplay feels great, and the level design is amazing…

Great job BMS guys!! & thanks for this

10/10

seeding and already played 3 hours or so … it’s amazing!

you guys deserve a medal or something. like more clicks on the donation button

ROFL!
All this detail!

Schrödingers cat!

I can’t wait an hour for this to download. FASTER, INTERNET, FASTER!!

Just a few things I wanted to say and ask.

-You included fdg’s and the lights.rad in the download. Does that mean we can make custom maps and levels for BMS?

-Would it be a big bother to mount the BMS content into GMOD or SFM as long as we don’t release anything with it included?

and the only complaint I have with the game is the jumping. I have died way too many deaths because you jump very very low (like 8 inches?)

Great mod so far and I hope you guys have fun with zen!

Downloading source SDK, amazing work guys!

Apologies if I’m being blind/dumb/blonde, but… where is this donation button? I must click

Holy jesus, I’m the first to find out, IT’S OUT!! Gogogo, download!!

Yes, it’s out. I’m installing this now :stuck_out_tongue:

Not true, you just need the Source SDK Base 2007, which will install automatically when you try to run Black Mesa from within Steam.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
