Black Mesa is released!

I love you, guys! From the bottom of my heart
I’ve return into the childhood Q_Q

Installing right now, seeded for a while during my nap.

Can’t wait to play this, man.

I derped around for 10 minutes just after meeting the first hound eye. Thought the door was bugged because it wouldn’t open.

Turns out there are valves.

But amazing work, guys and gals. This, so far, has exceeded my expectations on every level.

You have made it !!! Thanks guys. If you ever plan to sell this game on Steam - I will buy it. Gratulations, thanks for bringing back the sweet memories.

Well done to all that helped! I love this mod, I will be playing it quite alot.

So I am probably the only gamer on Earth who has not played HL1 but enjoyed HL2. So, without a doubt, I’m gonna enjoy this awesome remake you all did of the classic for the first time! Thanks, guys!

Been playing for a couple of hours; downloaded from one of the independent links posted (thanks guys!). I don’t use torrents - they just cause trouble. Been playing for about an hour so far, having reached the box-jumping bit and so far absolutely loved it. The post-resonance cascade bits were incredibly well-done, and so far there have been plenty of surprises. I knew you guys were going to change things up, but a lot of the time I’m unable to remember the point in the original being remade - so much new stuff has been added in. Not spoiling anything either, but the crowbar made me lol.

All I have to say is these two words: “Holy Shit”

Game’s awesome, managed to snag a download before the website got nuked by the traffic. Managed to get to the beginning of OAR before I decided to take a break, I’m playing with a tweeked skill config 'cause I wanted it to be more challenging.

Got my time’s worth and more. Look forward to Xen.

THANK YOU sooo much for this! You guys did an AMAZING job here. Absolutely LOVE ALL the detail you guys put into EVERYTHING. It’s like playing a current gen game. Using everything with max settings and a constant 60 fps.

Okay, 'nuff about visuals. The interaction is superb. Love the dialog lines. I spent an hour after I got off the train just talking to ppl and messing with them. Like throwing stuff at 'em…lol

“Stop it Gordon. My pacemaker can’t take much more of this.”

Pushing the fire alarm @ the gaurds desk = lol

The best though is messing with the dude in the bathroom droppin’ a deuce. “Excuse me I need some toilet paper.” Hilarity ensued after throwing the dude some in the stall!

You guys should be proud of yourselves. Thanks for ALL the work that you obviously poured into this project! salute

Now, when the next source engine comes out your re-doing HL2, right…? …Right? crickets

THAT’S IT Black Mesa is officially a horror game.
I had so many unscripted jump scares (atmosphere helps alot) that I shat my pants. (it’s late night here)

¡Hola!

I’ve just tried it out, and I am impressed by the quality of this game.
So many details - I’ve spent few hours in the first laboratories just talking to people and listening to their interactions with one another. Also, I really liked how characters are now able to comment on the situations. It creates a great atmosphere, makes me believe that everything that is going on is real.

The level design is fantastic - very well done, with huge amount of details and love put into each segment. Great! At the beginning (the tram ride part) I was literally jumping all over the cabin in order to look at everything at once and failed

The music. It’s beautiful, really works where needed and helps the atmosphere.

The graphics are outstanding. People look and move realistically, they emote and gesture with passion and energy. Everything looks crisp, polished and sharp. And alive.

The voice acting. Also, great job here! Pleasant voices, good play and intonations.

The best thing for me right now is the feeling. It’s especially strong in the first part, after the big explosion. I loved teaming up with a officer of security - he is a really useful companion. It felt like a movie - we both were moving through the darkness, armed only with one weapon and our own courage. Distant shouts, flickering lights and overall scary feeling - that was fantastic.

I’ll surely be playing more, and I will surely recommend this game to all of my friends.
A product of this quality should be available in stores - it’s that good.

Thank you for hours of fun I’ve got, and will get later on.

Gracias, caballeros

After the test chamber game was a disappointing for me.We waited in vain 8 year.Weapon animations was terrible.Professor ties get in to their arms.Barnacles has a lot bugs. Some sounds not incompatible with ambient audio.

when is it on steam?

so, when you say to take off a day of work, i should have taken off tomorrow because its going to be downloading until then :frowning:

no, dude ! this torrent works kickass https://www.hl-inside.ru/blackmesa/blackmesa.torrent

Woop woop woop
Awesome.
70% downloaded, leaving this bitch over night :stuck_out_tongue:

Morning Mr. Freeman, looks like your running Late…

Wow! Outstanding work guys! It’s not just copy&paste work, you have extended and polished the game! Graphics is incredible, it’s like all I wanted for HL2. Many things recreated with huge amount of details. I am in chapter II, and since beginning my jaw is still on floor.

You Gentleman’s and Ladies from Black Mesa Dev Team deserve to a freaking medal! Or at least some donation. This game is how should look Half-Life Source from Valve, but it was a simply port from GoldSource. Thank You VERY MUCH!

Love from Poland and Germany.

It’s out everybody knows that, so no need to make a thread about it.

Very well done guys, the game is outstanding!
Not only remade but also intensely improved!

whatever future plans/projects you guys have i will support you to the fullest.
