Black Mesa is released!

I didnt check EVERY download myself, but I do know the download page could use some updates. The very first link “fileshack” is broken, and the second link “gamefront” takes you to a page that indicates there are three files to download. No biggy I guess, except OUR download page tells you that there are two files to look for.

For many, downloading and getting the game installed is not hard to figure out. But for non english speaking folks or other noobs, it is small crap like this that is irritating.

I downloaded the mod from Gamefront and have had no issues with my install so far.

I immediately took the torrent file to download, goes much faster…

Still seeding the mod for others

Why was the release time on friday 14th 16:47? Is 1647 a special number?

It was 8:47am in the Timezone of intended release. Somewhere…

Personally (poisonally), I tried the ModDB download, it didn’t work, so then I waited (don’t ask me what for, because the answer requires division by zero). At a certain point, I saw that it was available on Desura, and since I abuse Desura’s mod-download function to hell already, I downloaded it that way. Worked like a charm.

…So, yeah, Black Mesa. I can play it. Woot. :lambda:

I haven’t even finished yet. I just killed the first Gargantua.

I haven’t even gotten THAT far yet. In fact, I didn’t even get that far in the original Half-Life. I suck. :fffuuu:

From TOOMtheRaccoon: Why was the release time on friday 14th 16:47? Is 1647 a special number?

This specific time of release corresponds to the original HL tram ride at the very beginning of the game. The female announcer states “The time is 8:47 am…” The time stated is for the location of the Black Mesa Research Facility, which is in New Mexico, USA, which uses MST (Mountain Standard Time).

The Devs made a wonderful nostalgic connection in tribute to the original HL.

Holy crap, Black Mesa’s released!

I thought the happiness of saying that would have worn out by now, but nope.

@Dadster

Of curse o.O I was irritated by my timezone. ^^’ Thx

Hey Black-Mesa Team…

Grettings from Germany!!! The game is unbelivible!! I love it!!!

Still nothing new on Steam-Release? I mean, there are some projects already available and afaik BM belonged to first group of games that have been accepted!

October, 10th. AFAIK.

Hoo boy… Brace yourselves.

I do hope its able to transfer over Screen shots & earned Achievements when Black Mesa is released on Steam.

Source?

Probably not… I wouldn’t have a problem if it didn’t.

but it was painfully difficult to post my “Thanks”…
There should be a link to a “Thank You” list on the BM main page, and people shouldn’t have to even become a member to express their gratitude. Just a “Thank You” button is all that is needed. No rating, no dislike button…
Just a “Thank you very much for all the time and work that you freely gave us!” button. We appreciate it both now and forever!

Just finished the game.

Wow. Just wow.

Best Halflife game so far. Stunning work. Congratulations.
