Black Mesa is released!

I haven’t finished my second playthrough yet (up to questionable ethics) but I’ve been watching tons of videos of other people playing through it for some reason.

im savoring my play through… i can only take so much awesome at once

Are there any statistics how often Black Mesa was downloaded or via Steam ‘registered’/started?

Alone on the german software site chip.de meanwhile over 200,000 downloads.

There must be millions … :o

´´Black Mesa: 1.7 million downloads! Feeling the love!´´

Sweet! keep it up!!

The games.on.net mirror link is up to around 111,000 downloads

Wonderful so far! I love the sections that were expanded! Though, I noticed that pieces of Surface Tension were removed entirely, specifically the sections right before Forget About Freeman. Oh well, still a great game. I just got to the Lambda Labs, so the adventure is almost over…until it continues again! But I can’t wait to see Xen!

I am savoring… I just played through fallout 3 (finally) and it went way too fast… with this I wander more and try different stuff, and occasionally make up conversations with the monsters and npcs

I´m trough…omg cant wait to see XEN  Its so awesome…the ambience, the music…totally flashed…

Finished! However, I have a problem, I keep throwing money to my screen but nothing happens xD. Oh nvm. Looking forward to Xen.

Ooooh-kaaay…

fifth, SIXTH Playthrough?
I haven’t even been able to get anywhere near 1/4 of my FIRST playthrough due to my PC’s Power supply having decided to crap out.

I just thought I’d throw a solid “I love you guys” for this. Every second of the dev cycle was well worth the wait, because Black Mesa is as much or more refined, in my opinion, to an industry game. Achievements are a kick and I wish there was more, maybe when you pop up on steam? Also, shout out to Joel Nielson, fitting and amazing soundtrack for the game. All I can say is fantastic job to everyone on the team, and I can’t wait to see what you do with Xen!

Got through a lot in Black Mesa. It’s exceeded my expectations and I can say it’s actually better than my Half-Life 2 Experience?

Really it is O_o

Got to Power Up. Blast pit felt easier. great level design.

Just registered. After all this time lurking in the forums and anticipating the release for probably 3 years now, I decided to join the forums. But enough of this.

This mod (or should I dare say a game) redefines Half-Life in a way Valve could have envisioned it and I never did appreciate HL Source anyway. First playthrough is just amazing. I looked like a little tourist looking around everywhere (though laptop sucks balls :frowning: )
Still waiting for Xen though…

Just couldn’t handle reading the forums anymore.

If only you knew what # I’m on now. . . . :frowning:

Number of BM downloads at GameFront website is nearly 150,000.

Hell yEAH!!!

I wonder how many of those are from people screwing up the download procedures somehow and having to do it all over again.

All I know is I tried 3 or 4 times to try and download it before I settled for the Torrent!

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
