Black Mesa interview on Rock Paper Shotgun

You are fucking retarded.

I love the scientists just casually standing outside the door.

I love all of the Half-Life games, but Half-Life 1 destroys all of them in my opinion. I was way more satisfied and had way, WAY more fun with Half-Life 1. Half-Life 2 is still a great game though.

I am surprised by how good that original screenshot looks up above. I forgot how good HL1 looks for its age.

Well, that screenshot is pre-Resonance Cascade. Shit, that’s just another day at the office.

So at the end of part 2 we know the following facts that we also knew during the development of Duke Nukem Forever: At least one engine change occured and the release timeframe is “soon-ish”…

Tinfoil hats off people… It’s at least another 8 years away

Unless I’m reading your post wrong, no it’s not; that’s far beyond the Resonance Cascade in Questionable Ethics.

WHEN WILL THIS MOD BE RELEASED? I’VE BEEN WAITING ALL MY LIFE, EVERY DAY, EVERY NIGHT

I lie… anyways I have a feeling it will be released around Q1 2013

Believe

Good. That ought to quiet the cries of “vaporware” and hopelessness.

I like how there’s a perfect human brain lying under the saws.
I’ve heard that human brains have the structural integrity of jelly.

What you mean like a threesome between Half Life 2, Modern Warfare 3 and Battle Field 3?

From my experience with eating pig brain, brain has more of a structural integrity of jello.
Also interview was a fascinating read, much respect to the devs. And I’m much less worried about an eventual release now, they really have their shit together!

Well, if we are going to nitpick on the brain, it’s also way too big. it looks like it’s the size of a complete human head.

Anyway. Liked the interview, looking forward to the killcams. i’m hungry. brb, brains!

That was a nice interview, not much media but lots of comprehension.
Valve quality re-imagining of an already Valve-quality story?
Successful decentralized development?
Play for free game with lots of love put into it?

May the success repay your efforts.

Before this decade is out, or all the way in 2042?
Soon is such a non-informative word…

For some reason, all I’m wondering right now is if it’s gonna have closed captions

As far as I know it will only ship with English closed captions while fans will be creating subtitle packs in other languages.

Does anyone else notice the tank shooting at another HECU grunt?

He was silly enough to run in front of it.
:stuck_out_tongue:

my summary of the interview:

blah blah blah new screen shot blah blah everything weve heard before blah new screen shot blah blah trollface blah new screen shot blah blah trollface blah new screenshot blah.

i give it an 8/10.

Wait, there were 4 new screen shots? Thought I caught only 2…

that is how good bms devs have gotten at dodging questions.

they make you think they post 4 screenshots when they only post 2.

Ummm… wut?
How exactly is only posting 2 NEW screenshots dodging questions?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
