The weird part of this will be that BMS will look better than HL2 if you go on a straight playthrough.
My head just exploded trying to figure that out.

Congrats, you’ve just wasted a lot of time
jk
True. I’m obviously not complaining. I’m looking at you Valve. Yes you.
Update HL2 NOW! >
That’s BY 2013. Did you forget what I set out?
Also: It will be 50 AUSTRALIAN dollars. So let’s hope that they do not drop to the level of the Zimbabwe dollar in the meantime
Why? It still looks good. And they already updated it, long time ago.
Half-Life 2 was updated with the release of the orange box if I’m not mistaken, it is much different then it was back in 2004. Even the energy ball ammo model is entirely different, among other things.
Why haven’t I heard about this?:awesome:
and a shit ton of other peoples time. im still thoroughly convinced BMS is abandonware just like HL3 is.
comments like those are very un assuring and quite frankly dont bode well for the reputation that you dont care about. maybe you wouldnt receive so much negativity and hate from people waiting for BMS if you treated people with a common level of respect.
instead of posting a snide remark like that, you should probably just refrain from posting them. i know this is your board…but shit man…treat your community better.
if youre just going to lower yourself to the level of the people flaming you, then BMS’s ship was sunk before it even set sail.
and also, from one professional to another, the old excuse of “we dont do updates anymore because people complain” is the biggest crock of shit ever conceived.
if youre going to stay silent, then fucking do so. do not do interviews on RPS that ignite rage like my own,.
if i pulled that shit on the community behind the tf2 site i co-founded, id be dead in the water. only difference is you have the half life card. which you are abusing the power of. which alienates your community.
it is the same thing as saying “we dont care about the people we are making this game for. we only care about ourselves.”
“Youre only as good as your last project.”

I think there are a few things you’ve missed here dude. In the first place I doubt Ram was being anything close to snide, just to the point, which a lot of people prefer.
Secondly, the decision was made not to keep us up date with content so that we wouldn’t become frustrated with what would have appeared to us to be a carrot & donkey routine.
It meant less work was going into press and more into development.
That means that we get the game sooner. This is why we are here, to wait for the game - not content updates.
That is not a selfish move, that is a community conscious move - not necessarily a universally popular one I’ll give you that - but most definitely the healthiest long term one.
That is respect, to learn from a mistake (2009 release date), and to say “sorry guys, we really tried to get it done. We don’t want to put you through that again, so we’re taking a different approach.”
In case you didn’t notice we’re posting on the BMS forums, sooo not quite sure what you mean about “silence.”
I think, and this is just my humble opinion, that as you go through life seek to trade value for value. Don’t reward a thief, don’t pity a sadist and don’t dish out what you wouldn’t want to get back.
Conversely, value those who produce things, admire pioneers as much for their spirit of persistence as for the product thereof, and yes, treat others as you wish to be treated.
So in summary dude you are right. Flaming is not appreciated here.

I sense a no-lifer.
It’s actually more like “We care about the people we are making this game for. We are making it for ourselves.”
They’re not doing it for you, they’re not doing it for me, they’re not doing it for that guy in the corner. They’re remaking Half-Life because they want to see a Half-Life remake. They’re just being kind enough to share it when they’re done.
Good for you. Why don’t you piss off to Abandonia then and wait for BMS and HL3 there. Take your bullshit attitude with you and don’t let the door smack in your stupid face on the way out.
^
You’re the one who’s abandonware!
That’s right. You’re adopted!
Noyce. Smooooof Operater in da house. Troal away, son!
Yeah! Take THAT, Holocaust Denial!
Please, do continue…
Kinda like you’re doing? Dumping on this pro-bono drive-through service because your caviar isn’t materializing in a timely-enough fashion? This amounts to “showing respect”, yes? Hold on, I gotta take notes…
shit…ting…where…you…eat…eee…quals…rezzZULTZ!.. Got it!
I’m gonna hug you.
Ok ok, first post…whatever.
Been lurking around on the forum (and posting on the steam group wall every so often…) for around a year…I know what the deal is. Truthfully, I can wait…it’s going to be FREE afterall. Hell, anyone complaining about it taking forever should perhaps see what they did to Duke Nukem and wish that the BMS devs don’t make the same horrid horrid baby killing mistake.
Now HL3 (or if you prefer Ep: 3…although it’s been way to long since then to have it be called an episode at this point…) on the other hand…I’m not to happy about how long THAT is taking to develop. I don’t think Valve has an excuse as to why it’s taking them so long. By the time they decide to release it, so few people may actually care that it bombs…
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
