Black Mesa: Blueshift

Oh man, you guys better do something about this, quick.

Oh dang really?

That’s okay I just cancelled the entire project.

Hope that helps

This is circular we need BM so we can do our XEN levels, oh well guess forever developing.

Well that’s boring, then you gotta stop halfway through an already short game and be left waiting an indeterminate amount of time for the last couple hours of it. I think it’d be better to experience it fully and just hold patient.

Well, then they need to wait till Xen is released and then need to map it in the mod (or they need to release it as a demo)

You could make Xen with HL1 textures, and just give it a hefty little overhaul when BM finalizes.

You should probably leave dev notes because people are dumb and will complain otherwise, haha.

That would depend on how consistent they wish to remain with Black Mesa. If it’s getting a huge overhaul like they say it could be worlds different.

Or they make a small placeholder for now!

Any work put into the Xen portion will most likely be wasted effort, so I really think it’s best they hold off on that until BM’s Xen is released.

Hopefully it will be by the time they get to that part for BS :stuck_out_tongue:

Its likely the xen portion of the mod will have to be left out then added after BM releases their xen levels.

God damn, nice job! I didn’t know you were that popular.

Neither did we haha

Easiest solution I guess…

Why don’t you make a orange Xen map and add texture to it when Black Mesa’s Xen texture is released?

You know I could just wait until Xen is released

You’re assuming Xen will just be a retexture. So then what happens when Black Mesa releases Xen, and their take isn’t floating islands, it’s… canyons, or caves or something? Or floating islands but more in the fashion of an asteroid belt. Then the consistency between Black Mesa and Insecurity is lost.

I don’t see why it’s such a problem for them to put off making the Xen sections until they have something to go off of.

Couldn’t agree more!

Also I need some help from you guys!!

I’m sketching down stuff for the freight yards, ideas and some rough ideas of how i want things looking architecture wise and I was wondering if you guys could find me some real life examples of awesome looking train warehouse/ freight yards

I’ve got a few examples but I would really love some sort of database of reference images.

I really wanna nail this area since it will be all 100% my own interpretation since there was nothing like this in BM.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
