Black Mesa Blackout?

Facebook and google already stated they’re opposing the bill, but are not blacking out. And look at it this way, if every small site decided they were to small to have an impact, there would be like 3 sites blacking out.

I don’t get why blacking out makes a difference.

Blacking out big sites that most internet users visit daily would start a commotion and inform those who doesn’t know what they up against. But this will fail if not every site sends you to a site which link you to information about the bill.
I don’t know why this site would black out. It would be no different for anyone who doesn’t visit this site daily. I know I’ll have a boring Wednesday if it happen though and as other have pointed out, their is a chance that people take the black out of this site as the reconstruction of the forum, thus thinking that the mod will be release.

Well – I hope they at least think of some way to inform users of what is going on…

Even with all of those companies and estates opposing the bill, it’s a scary fucking bill. Think back to the days of early America (New England); every time England passed one of these bills, Americans rioted and warred.

I think it’s more than fitting that we at least cause some kind of commotion, even if it’s only on the internet…

I hope you’re right about Google, otherwise I’ll be dead in the water at work. Research project without search engine = :fffuuu:
(I could always resort to Bing, but eww)

Don’t use bing

Sounds like that actually might work. But as the other person said, we may have people speculate the mod may come out soon. One of the devs said that any little action on the site almost instantly gets people thinking that the mod will be out the next day. Especially since a major update to the site, wiki, and forums are planned as well. BUT, Black Mesa is still a widely known thing on the internet so many would take it seriously. As well as let people know that the mod is indeed alive.

And I know this is off subject, but who’s that dude in your sig? And where’d you get the GIF?

If we don't stand for our rights that we are entitled to, then we are not entitled to those rights.

Everyone must stand against the bill for it not to pass. We as the people have a job too, and that is to scrutinize our government when they have taken interest in a goal not directed towards the constitution.

Sadly though, there are allot of people otherwise preoccupied with the distractions that pull us away from our motivation to fight for our freedom.

This is my own bleak perception of the world that motivates me to spread the word.

Please help me spread that word as I am helping spread the word with the world.

Don’t worry, I won’t.

And I’ve noticed this new banner at the top of the page, Hubi.

I’m all for it

I’m actually a little sad the bill won’t pass.

What? You fuckin crazy?

No, really! Because the bill states that any 3rd party which makes available, encourages or shows how to pirate is liable for the damages caused, even if that party didn’t themselves pirate. And since sites strongly supported by Warner, Microsoft etc. are the #1 download sites for torrenting software and even show how to pirate using hot stuff like “Beatles” or “Beyonce”, they would be the first to sue for billions of dollars of damages.

Wish I were the fly on the wall

No you are crazy.

Everything that is or changes makes a difference. So stop saying it makes no difference you moro- people.

I was just asking what difference it makes and I was given a satisfactory reply and now I understand. So shut it you “moro-”.

Anyone else notice the “STOP SOPA” banner at the top of the page?

It’s just one big black bar, to me.

Mine says PIPA…

Man, this is startin’ to get serious…

OH lol – my bad, wrong abbreviation.

And now the site has some blacked out parts on the front page and the logo has been censored.

You are all overreacting. If they up and decided to negate everyone else’s rights and pass it for the hell of it…that’s the only way it would pass…

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
