Attempting to make a skin to get rid of the “fake” shading (painted on highlights) of this MP5 and replace it with phong shading, also made normal maps for it as well

(It’s not normally that bright, I just tried to get shots in areas that make most of the other weapons have a similar shine, though maybe I should still tone it down a bit?)

How do you change the field of view on the v_hands?

I want to change the fov on the magnum and the glock

or perhaps it is the camera settings for the animation?

Navigate into the Black Mesa folder, then open up the ‘scripts’ folder. Scroll down until you see the ‘weapon_[x].txt’ text files. Open the text file of the weapon you want to configure and locate a line that says ‘fov’. Change the FOV from 54 to any FOV you want. If you are in-game and change this while it’s minimized, then you’ll have to relaunch the game.

yeah I know this but it makes the gun smaller and the hands are more or less the same size.

On the glock and the 357 this is more noticeable.

I want to change the camera position so the hands are at the same scale as when they hold the other weapons at the same distance or same fov. The hands for the glock and 357 to me look out of scale.

But the animation is great of course

I wonder if it’s the two hands, unlike half life 2 single handed and different camera position

I would love to see single handed versions of the 2 pistols but i doubt that will happen

How do you get that mettallic texture on the gun If anyone can chrome up the 357 or SW29 or even make the model a bit fatter like the original nose I would be interested with the black stock too.

The 3dsmax file can be found on game banana but I am not sure the skin is available.

Basically the chrome with phong shading I think it would be something special. And it is the only weapon that is a default weapon in the game that is missing from the animation revamp, but I really would not want the animation to change from the sw29 I think that is perfect, but I would not mind seeing the animation we have coupled with the rotating barrell on the model like the black mesa default model. and defo no glowing sights.

This might sound a little out of date (considering the last post was made 02-05-14, so technically I’m bumping even though I’m trying really hard not to.) Is there a way someone could replace the SPAS-12 shotgun with an Ithaca 37 Stakeout like the one seen in Aliens (1986)? I know it sounds a little stupid, but I would like to see a skin like that. :3

It shouldn’t be too hard, considering the SPAS and Ithaca have similar sizes and shapes. Hey, it’d also work pretty well because the SPAS-12’s selection icon in HL1 was a Stakeout.

I need help getting the sounds for the glock reload and mp5 to work.

TO “preload_file” “scripts/sound_weapon_mp5.txt”
