I apologize for straying from the topic of this thread for this, however I must point out the subjectivity I notice in this post. You claim you will be lenient with older members, however how will you tell that they are older, by their registration date? If so, at what point does one become an older member as opposed to a newer one? Or were you planning on using your memory? I personally do not want to be treated unfairly because of a memory slip. The point I am trying to make is that a statement like that appears not only to show favoritism, but favoritism based on a completely subjective situation, and must ask if that is to be considered fair on these forums?
On topic: I am glad that the release date has been pushed back, I feel this will be better for the mod and the community in general. I for one am grateful that it is not coming out this month, I have to study for exams and this has kept distracting me. Thank you developers, you have made the right choice. Please, keep up the excellent work.

The fact that the mod was delayed, or that the community members are begging for a later release.
Since the mod team only recently informed us of the delay i now expect the mod january, no 2012 stuff.
As I quoted, they’ve been saying that for a while.

Gotta say I agree without about it being a good thing it’s being released later. The longer it takes the better it gets. Of course, there’s a limit to that. But let’s not forget it took Valve themselves 6 years to develop Half-Life 2. And these guys were getting payed to do so.
I wouldn’t have minded spending my christmas vacation playing Black Mesa, that being said.
Ok I didnt see that coming…i thought that they would release it at the end of this month…Those are really sad news and all the “its better it comes out 2010 because the game will be finished properly” doesnt comfort me at all…i guess i was just too excited for this 
They owe us a demo of the office level or something now that they’ve squandered our trust.

But for serious, it’s understandable. I think everyone would prefer a playable, polished release later than a buggy, unfinished (and dare I say disappointing?) mess now.

I see where you’re coming from, but Daedalus is more or less correct. My post was more aimed at new users joining to solely cause trouble and fill the forums up with shit. To be less obtuse, I would look at each case individually. If I saw a new member that joined yesterday and only had a couple of posts that were obviously done with the intent to flame/annoy/troll other members I would ban them. The join date helps too obviously. I would consider an older member someone who has been on the forums for over 1 year (don’t confuse that with veteran members). I know most of the people that regularly post on these forums by their name or avatar and wouldn’t expect them to act this way. I’m not speaking on their behalf but I would say most forumers understand the mod needs more time and wouldn’t kick up a stink about it. I’m not playing favourites either, let’s just say I wouldn’t permaban a long time member for acting up, as opposed to the newer shit-stirrers. Also, why would you be unfairly treated unless you’ve done something against the forum rules, regardless of when you joined? Doesn’t make sense. But I do hope you understand the reason behind that post, to try and prevent the forums from becoming a war zone over a delay.

Dont kill me but i think its better when they release it 2010. Better a
perfectly detailed Mod then a 99% completed, unlovely remake of HL. Still
cant wait an release but now im shure, that it will kick ass because the
devs aren’t having no pressure now.
Let the time age this mod to perfection! Also think about this: The devs are
only humans, with familys and a RL. Its chrismas time. They want a quiet
time like everyone else in this time of the year. I dont adjudge the devs
when they prefer their family and also say “Hey we need more time, because
we dont think BM now is good enough to represent a full remake of the
legendary HL”

Keep up the good work, and relax a bit, eh? When the mod hits download you’ll prove all those “Black Mesa is dead” sayers wrong. In the mean time, I’ll still F5 the shit out of the main page once in awhile to see if there’s any updates

oh hay guis, new updated, we have now ported the mod to the HL284 Episode 5 engine.
We estimate it to be out next year.
