Too bad the mod isn’t coming in 2009 
But I think we all can wait a bit longer for a even better mod. Lets face it, the recreation of the Half-Life world and Black Mesa isn’t simple and it takes a lot of time. Too bad you didn’t make the 2009 deadline, but shit happens. You are doing an incredible job and I don’t care of I have to wait a bit longer (what did I just say? Of course do I care, I want the mod to be released as soon as possible, but I think a early release isn’t worth it, when the mod isn’t absolutely perfect, so just take your time and don’t be distracted by people saying you must release the mod now or something like that).
Thanks in advance for releasing the (probably) best mod ever! I even don’t know if it is still fair to call Black Mesa ‘just’ a mod, because it actually is much larger than Half-Life 2 (at least I think, becasuse Half-Life 1 is much larger than Half-Life 2). It isn’t just a modification for Half-Life 2, it is the remake for the best game ever! I can see that remaking the best game ever takes a lot of time (especially when you are aiming for the best remake too!).
So just take your time. I hope you release in 2010 but I think I could even live with another year longer. I just hope you relase it as soon as possible as long you don’t over rush the mod, game, remake or what ever we should call it. You are doing a great job over here and I don’t mind if you are doing it a little bit longer!
Ps. Good luck eating your shoe, I tried ones and I can tell you: It isn’t easy
