I found that pic a while ago - I actually spoke to cman2k about this shot and he said:
Please take your time. I’d rather you not fuck up like the Doorman is god server with all the freaken noobs who can’t even get in the kitchen in Zombie Panic.
25,000 district, Gaymart street, Welcome to noobs vill!
When was the Xen concept made?
My God, if the actual Xen looks cooler than that picture Dillxn posted, I think that I’m going to be too busy having multiple orgasms to actually play through it.
Ditto.
I signed up after years of lurking to see that pic of Zen… well played
Now I’ve bothered, I might as well use this opportunity to say:
Take your time; take forever if you need to- so far you have made an inconceivable idea a reality, and have done it in a manner that any professional developer would be proud of (From what I can garner in your media releases etc).
It’s hard to stomach that people will actually take time out from their lives to disseminate such negativity in regards something which they have neither right nor privilege to make a judgement on.
Black Mesa, I assume, is work of dedication; although it will no doubt heavily bolster the portfolios of all those involved, it must be plain for anyone to see how much research and continued development would be involved in evolving a project to the level this one is at now. You just plain old can’t do that without a great deal of love for the core concept.
I, and the many silent people I know who are anxiously awaiting the release of this mod, are thankful for the opportunity to wait and will continue to happily, content in the knowledge that an experience very dear to our hearts is in safe and considerate hands.
And all those assholes saying it’s taking too long- what are they gonna do, make their own one? I would pay serious money to see that.
Serious money we aren’t paying for Black Mesa: Source.
Walks away, feeling accomplished
There is no SOURCE!! :hmph:
And as for this from Firefly…
“That being said I hope in the near future we will have a new release date and hopefully the developers will have the honor to try to keep it above all else. I know in society today people rarely keep their word or finish productions on time. There was a time back about 50+ years ago when developers were proud of finishing a project on time and under budget, today we see the throw away society and the decadent attitude that goes with it.”
This isn’t 50+ years ago. I would also be afraid to see what things that developers were making for their fans Also, I am kind of wishing that everyone who brings up how the devs needed to have finished this mod by 2009 get like…an unfinished or lower quality version instead of the real finished product just so they can go “I wish I had just waited for the devs to get out that A+++ product instead of wanting it NOW!” Sounds like kids these days… “I WANT THIS NOW!!!”
mmm ^^ i waiting now so long for play hl 1 again but i never play hl1 again cuz i waiting for the mod xD its a painfull fact but i think the final result of this mod is extrem good you guys could make much money if you make a compact with steam. thx for making this mod black mesa is a really good atmo and as child i had love it so many memories ^^
Bane
I’m beginning to have difficulty understanding why some people want another media release so badly. Exactly what do you expect them to show you? You already have an excellent trailer, tons of youtube test footage, over 100 images of levels, characters, and weapons, music downloads, community projects, and plenty of developer feedback and general information about the mod that can be found on this forum if you take the time to look.
If you aren’t satisfied now, then you won’t be satisfied until you play the game!
I’m glad Rabidmonkey took the time to make that reply. I hope it squelches some of the flack the BM team has been getting.
Whether you believe in this accountability argument, or you’re just feeling anxious or impatient, in the end you’re all disappointed for the same damn reason: Black Mesa won’t be coming out this year. In light of that, exactly what would one expect to gain by expressing that disappointment in a very negative manner, especially at this late stage?
We’re almost there, and you’re going to download the game regardless of any delays, so why don’t you try expressing encouragement for the team instead?
You know, there have been studies on this - when a program is performing a long operation, users will actually perceive the time to be shorter if the program does something at the same time - even if it’s just a progress bar that keeps infinitely approaching 100%, without any relation to the actual progress! Seen as animals, we’re bred to associate stillness with death, and I think this is an outgrowth of that instinct. That’s why I think, if the devs took, say, two weeks longer with the mod, and used that time, spread over the remaining development time, to release regular progress reports, the time would still seem shorter to me
[ediŧ] I’m not saying BM is dead fcrs! I’m just saying an unmoving object appears dead to our animal brains; that doesn’t mean it’s true! >_<
So…Your saying black mesa is dead?
I vote to at least release a new trailer for the end of a developing year!
To show everyone what progress was made and what will be done…
Nope, not going to happen.
LOL. Who didn’t see this response coming?
Well no shit, who really thinks they’re going to coordinate the release of another trailer, let alone with 2 weeks of the year left and more important things to do.
They could always hack together a small intro and slap a certain dreaded music video on the end to it…
:retard:
walks away humming song
Omg, somebody make a rick rolled video. :rabies:
Personally, I am taking down names. The day we release is gonna be a sad day for each of you that said bad things about the dev team. Oh yes, a bad day indeed!
muahahaha!
