Black Mesa 2009 Update

i was talking about pulsar

Might wanna use the quote option before responding then.

Regardless of when this game comes out, I know I’m going to play it. I’ve been excited for this for years now, and in the old forums I said I would even pay for something like this. I can wait as long as is needed. Delays suck, but I get over it, move on, and be patient.

Oh and for those that are saying that they will not wait anymore - stop bs’ing yourselves.

I am sure the fanbase is down right now, and the membership seems to be at a low. But face it, everyone knows that the moment the download button is activated, we are gonna have folks coming out of the woodwork from all over the globe just chomping at the bit to get their groove on.

I can’t wait you guys. Keep up the excellent work, devs!

I’m not very surprised about this actually. This is things that can happen and I have no problem waiting a little longer for what looks like great mod.^^

Besides, it is certainly nothing new if you look at Valve.

When they said Q4 2009 they probably forgot to mention that it’s FISCAL Q4 2009

No, calendar year 2009.

Just, …think about it.

Are you referring to the fact that calenders have usually the month before and after on the bottom of each page? [eg. May and July on the page for June]

I think he’s referring to the fact that the Gregorian calendar was introduced in 1582 so the 2009th Gregorian calendar year would be 3591.

The mod will be released in August 30th.

It happened because you touch yourself…

Or the Chinese/Japanese/Asian calender.

Бля-я-я-я. :’(
Ну и когда теперь ждать?

Want to try again in English this time? :expressionless:

Неа, не хочу. Я лучше выражаю мысль на русском. А разве гугл плохо переводит? Мне кажется перевод достойный.

F********ck. :’(
And how long to wait now?

They are just delaying it to implement iron sight

haha, sig’d

Nothing can possibly express my level of disappointment for the entire BMS team, this kind of bait and switch is the most horrendous, cruel thing I’ve experienced on the Internet outside of trojan horses. This release was about the only Goddamn thing that gave me, and probably a thousand others any reason to be enthusiastic for anything this holiday season, and now I have a feeling we may have a couple jumpers in the days that follow.

If this sounds like a harsh response, it’s probably because it is. I’ve held the BMS team up to a high standard given what we’ve been shown, and even with Valve I’ll reserve the right to harp on the developers for breaking a contract made with the players-to-be. That contract came in the form of a trailer, distinctly touting a 2009 release. Obviously not intentional, but in the end that trailer has come to represent a lie.

Do I think it’s unfair to them? No. They should, and certainly did know the kind of fury they’d be invoking with this announcement, and I think it would be unfair for US not to oblige them of that. The credit I WILL give them, is they were pretty brave, though pretty pessimistic, to offer this announcement 3 weeks from the deadline instead of the day the deadline was set for. They may have lessened the outrage, but I think we’d be remiss not to take advantage of our right to be angry and disappointed.

For me, the only near-acceptable release if it CANNOT be 2009 would be well within the January 0’10 month. Beyond this would be outrageous, and show the team is either taking unfair advantage of their “lack” of release date, or were simply so unprepared by this time that their credibility is well beyond suspect.

Your move BMS staff. Act accordingly if you want to salvage yourselves from this SNAFU you’ve delivered yourselves into.
