Give 'em a break. It’s a free MOD. They’ve probably just got a few kinks to work out.
Me, I’m going into hibernation until they sort it out. I could do with a couple of months sleep to be honest. Wake me up on release day. Ta.

If you’re older than 10 you should be ashamed of yourself
you sir are a cunt.
get ur head out ur arse and realise what these guys are doing.
building a complete game, from scratch, not only that they are doing it for free.
For the complainers “Waaaaaaaaahhhh!” Get a real life and realize a game shouldn’t define it.
For the people who are taking this well, congrats, you proved your maturity.
The mod can take as long as it wants. Quality first. I have followed this for years and I don’t mind it not being for xmas, I have a lot of other stuff I can look forward to as well until it is released…and I have finals to do so I wouldn’t be able to play anyways until…late.
To all of the mods - You have done great work and I laugh my ass off many times with your humor and I will hopefully stick around and see if it continues
To all of the devs - You have done spectacular work and rushing it would only dull the precious gem that is Black Mesa. Kudos to you guys.
actually the devs owe us NOTHING, they just do it because they wanted it for themselves. At first it is for the devs own benefit, that means for example
I have joined these Forums after lurking for well over 3 years to tell J-Dude that he is without exception, the single biggest cock-end on the internet.
They owe you nothing, they didn’t even owe you the apology, which they gave anyway.
Seriously.
You Twat.
You’ve been successfully trolled by J-Dude. Nice
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Go fuck yourself. Actually, why don’t you go make the mod? Maybe you’ll have it done before them. But I doubt it.
sooooo… a media update or something would be cool ;f
Cost is hardly the matter here. Their body of work indicates they wish to be taken as seriously as a professional gaming company, and so I will react accordingly. It’s only fair to them that they know what to expect when they’re all inevitably hired by Valve, or other major companies, considering that this mod will culminate into the most impressive new-hire demo-reel anyone will have seen in a long time.
I believe I mentioned I would call ANYONE on shenanigans when shenanigans occur. And they have occurred; so begins the shenanigan calling.
By no means do I think the staff unskilled, by the time this is released, no doubt I’ll be tossing bunches of roses at their very feet, but given that the BMS team is so very used to utter, utter praise and have held themselves to professional standards, I feel it would be be unfair to them NOT to criticize their mistakes all the more where they occur. The better you become, the more your mistakes, however small, stand out. And allowing the Mona Lisa to pass through the critics with them saying “oh, he’s a brilliant artist, so we can ignore that gob of red paint he let drip onto the border” is simply put, not good criticism. I would tell Leo to mop that up.
By not HOLDING them to the standard they set, you are being unfair to them. “Oh, leave their mistakes alone, it’s a free mod after all”. Oh, a fine excuse, memorized by those living here, but I can’t help thinking the staff must look at the words “free mod” and leer at them with loathing, as if they had a perfectly good banquet, and someone had tied the turkey to a plague rat. “Oh, it’s a FANTASTIC dinner, considering there’s a rat on the table.” It’s the one thing about their Black Mesa work which keeps them from being taken too seriously, but I recognize worthy work when I see it, so I will ignore the rat in order to sample and review the burnt marshmallow yams that everyone has been so conveniently ignoring.
So take my words, not in the context of hate, but in that of tough love. And by tough, I mean that a rhinoceros ought to beware getting sunburn, such is the toughness of MY love.
here is my videogame essay
Nowhere do they every say or hint that they’d like to be recognized as an official gaming industry. They call this a mod, and they all have jobs (or nearly all) or go to college, and it I’m not mistaken, most of them plan to never work together again, and they have said this many times. They are not/never will be/don’t want to be a gaming company. Black Mesa Inc. does not exist and would be a very big legal issue if it did.
Get over yourself and your ability to shit walls of crap text out of your anal-sphincter.
I understand he’s a trolloin’, but we let somebody come on and read his overly flatulent arse data taking it as truth, and things’ll just get more annoying when it gets over to some nub-forum and spreads the joy. Plus, trolls make fun punching bags.
me personally, I will eat my yams without complaint as complaining about free lunch is a very selfish thing for one to do.
I am sure you HATE Blizzard.
Yay! my first post on this forum!
also: Instead of getting negative about the whole “not-to-be-released-this-year” thing, I’m gonna be positive about the fact that for each passing day we in fact get CLOSER to the release date. And the fact that the devs here are not a corporation but are still able to make me anticipate a game as wildly as anything released by Valve or Blizzard just makes the whole thing more worth waiting for!
And lets not forget that some of the best games in history have experienced delays during development. Longer waiting time just amplifies my excitement really :]
It’s ok guys. L4D2 and MW2 won’t get boring until at least 2011, so its all good lol
I’d love to whine… but I wont.
I place my money on summer 2010 or december 2010 release.
J-Dude, call it whatever you want. It’s free, go show off your ego to someone else. Like your mother, she might love you then.
meh… wouldnt be able to play the mod during december because of all the manly social things ive got planned for the vacation :freeman:
not to mention the Exam project…
Take your time ppls! you cant rush art.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
