I think the misconception is that there was a release date to begin with. They always seemed to have the position that it’ll be done “when it’s done” and that they were aiming to be finished sometime in 2009. So while they were working toward a 2009 release, the release date was “when it’s done”. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong here.
No argument there. Of course you have the right to be disappointed. I’m disappointed too. I can also empathize that shit happens and if it’s not ready, it’s not ready. The best we can do is wait or maybe contribute to the project if we can.
I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
To the devs - actually can you delay the release until we have the technology to plug our computers directly into our brains? That would make this mod that much better! Thanks! (Though it’ll be hard to get people away from their VR porn long enough to try the mod).
LOL. Should have put more of an emphasis on the “ever”.
The majority of what you say is correct. But they also attached the 2009 date to the “official” trailer… which makes it an official release date. Does it not? People that don’t visit the boards don’t know the creators personal thoughts or positions. Hell, I didn’t. They watch the trailer and it tells them that it’s coming in 2009. It doesn’t say “Coming soon… when it’s done”. That would be pretty funny though.
Generally, the majority of trailers are created for non-fans. To draw in new gamers. Because fans will play the game regardless. Given that this is a mod, it’s a little bit different (to a degree). Trailers are created for the public. When there is an official trailer with the release date of 2009, it gives you the impression the game will be released sometime in 2009, does it not?
. It’s look like you take me so serious.
I was just kidding. I read the forum and saw how your followers back you up. Then just play the role of angry man. I write a Ps to state that I was kidding. But I guess I played the role too well .
Just take your time man. I’m also backing you up…
Could you possibly delay the mod a bit more? Preferably until ep3 is released?
Then I would bunker myself up in my apartment and play the series all the way through, from BMS to ep3. It would begin epic, and it would end epic.
But tbh I can’t even wait five minutes longer. But I’ll try, for the sake of humanity. And vortikind.
As a humble idiot, I must say: Keep up the great work!
I agree that this should be put on the front page, but i’m sure some people will still miss it. :fffuuu:
The free-mod argument may be old, but it’s no less valid. I’m disappointed about the announcement, but i’d get more emotional over a stubbed toe than a missed deadline for a free game.
Think about it, if you paid money for this mod, you’d be sacrificing something, and therefore you might be somewhat entitled to some emotional distress. However if you’re genuinely disturbed beyond general disappointment over a project you haven’t legitimately contributed to, or sacrificed anything for, then maybe the problem doesn’t lie with undedicated mod makers, but with your own emotional priorities.
Come on, there’s nothing wrong with getting your hopes up, but be realistic about it.
I first found this mod a couple of years ago. Then I forgot all about it’s existence for at least a year till stumbling on a reference to it on another forum.
What I need is one of those flashy things from Men in Black. So I can forget all about this thing till I find a post on some forum mentioning its been released. The cure for impatience is amnesia.
