Black Mesa 2009 Update

^ Winner ^

Of course we will lose some interest in the mod from waiting so long.

C’mon guys, it’s not like it’s been cancled. It will most likely be out in a few months.

Croteam is based in Croatia. That is where all of their programmers, level designers, and modelers live.

John J. Dick, the voice of their main character Serious Sam, lives on the west coast of the USA, in California, Washington, and more recently in Texas.

I don’t know about Valve, but not every professional company requires their voice staff to be local

There may be hope for me yet!

(That was a joke, ha ha, fat chance)

major spoiler alert
it’s all connected, the bm delay and half life ep3, valve have seen sense and threw sacks of money at the BM devs to BS us just long enough to drop the bombshell which is the Black Box, Half Life 2, Ep1 - 3, Portal 2 and Black Mesa, the single greatest pack ever to be sold on the PC and Console platforms, coming Winter 2010, mark my words non-believers, this is the real reason for this recent annoucment. This is the real reason the BM devs wont accept donations, because they’d feel bad getting paid twice by the fans they only wish to please. And the reason they have to bs? because it’s valves masterplan to kill us all with just pure and utter awesomeness/great value, because you see valve are from xen…
For all you moaning about this mod being “delayed” i only hope you now shut up and accept this most awesome of reasons!

“awesome of reasons”?

Doesn´t make any sense

“Valve cancels The Black Box, forces consumers to rebuy content
Valve has canceled The Black Box, one of the two planned SKUs for the upcoming surge of Half-Life content, leaving consumers with only one more expensive option”

“We’re going to have one package, The Orange Box, available on the PC (US$49.99) as well as the 360 and PS3 (US$ 59.99). In addition to the three new products—Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Half-Life: Episode Two—The Orange Box will also contain the full version of Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One. Those who purchase the PC version of The Orange Box will get three separate Steam product codes: One for the three new games, one for HL2, and one for Episode One. This way a PC Orange Box owner can give away their Half-Life 2 or Episode One unused Steam product codes if they don’t need a copy of those games. We are excited to deliver the highest value of new gaming content ever offered in one box.” - Doug Lombardi

I guess, it’s going to be an antology from HL1(BM) to EP3 box

hope you are right

Cool story, bro!

Portal 2???
emmm… really?
I thought they cancelled that too

who cares about release, more time to polish keep it up guys even the old vids on youtube look awesome

where the fuck did u get that nugget of bullshit from?

portal guys were hired by valve and have been working on portal 2 since the original was released. they was on gametrailers or something earlier this year announcing they are looking at the possibility of multiplayer

Actually when they tried doing multiplayer for it they said something among the lines of “You’d think it would be fun but you’d be wrong”.

That sentence actually doesn’t contain any errors. Nevertheless, it was a very stupid post.

Ever heard of the exite mod?

It’s long dead, but they had multiplayer, which was actually kinda fun. Wasn’t nearly as well implemented as portal was, but with a few modifications, multiplayer could actually be done well. Co-op would be a much better system then versus tbqh.

What they did for versus was give everyone guns. You shot each other, but could also use portals to get places or shoot them under people to put them places. It was a neat system, and if done in portal, could actually work well. Kind of like the gravity gun in hl2:dm. Bringing an unordinary weapon into the game.

Co-op portal has to be the best idea I’ve heard in a long time.

Ya. She is the pretty, but she also is the married. :stuck_out_tongue:

So the rest of the time is when you’re masturbating? Oh wait! That was the DNF team. Nevermind.

I’m thinking it would be more accurate to say that you lose some interest in checking backmesasource.com for updates, but I’m sure that once you’ve learned it’s done and released, you’re going to :jizz:

Yeah, they can’t concentrate with our distractions… No one should post any more and they might get some work done

Great song.^^

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
