Hah! So I did break the plot!
[There would still be other Comstocks in other universes. The whole meaning of this game is to remove him entirely.]
I have devised an interesting theory myself. What if [there is a timeline where Booker didn’t have a daughter, but a son? Anna, Andrew. Rosalind, Robert. ROsalind, RObert. ANna, ANdrew. What if Booker moved to Russia in that universe and that’s where Andrew Ryan came from? That would also explain why Booker is capable of operating the bathyspheres.]
There’s always the possibility that [[color=’#171717’]The Luteces would each invent the technology by themselves, even if Columbia never happened in their universe.]
Actually, come to think of it, I think that what might be the case is that [[color=’#191919’]The universes with Robert were all the same as the ones where Booker wasn’t baptized. Robert didn’t cross over until he came over with Anna, since before he went through the tear with Anna he was worried (arguing with Rosalind) that he would suffer from the same memory rewriting as Booker, which he actually did. If he’d been through a tear before that wouldn’t be something for them to argue about.]
Edit: Can we either get proper spoiler tags or a post background that isn’t a gradient?
According to a voxophone in Clash in the Clouds [Rosalind wasn’t able to build her tear machine without Comstock’s funding.]
Right, but [[color=’#171717’]the tear machine is a different device than the field she was using to communicate with Robert. Even if only she has the tear machine, she’d still be able to bring Robert over, which just confirms my theory.]
Actually [I wasn’t talking about the Lutece Field, I was talking about the tear machine. The Lutece Field would be relatively cheap to make considering Robert was able to do it, but the tear machine that brought Robert over craved Comstock’s funding.]
Isn’t that what I’m saying?
I think what you’re saying is [that she brought him through the field. That’s not the case. The Lutece Field and the Lutece Tear are two seperate things as she stated in a voxophone. With Comstock’s laboratories and funding she was able to build on the Lutece field and create the Lutece tear, but only with Comstock’s help. ]
I actually have read the blacked out text and am yet to finish the game… I should thank myself for confusing the hell outta me.
Go finish the game first! The story is incredible, but only retains it’s power if you remain unspoiled.
That’s exactly what I’m saying.
I decided to jump right back into the game in 1999 mode. Whoa, combat is different- it’s a ton more lethal now. Most of my Normal playthrough was a run and gun frenzy, but in 1999 mode you really have to use cover and make the most of your Vigors to have a chance at survival.
Also, noticing the first in-game fight has “The Songbird” as the background music. I am now seriously addicted to this theme.
Then I probably misread. Sorry.
this is very late but
inb4 Elizibeth mai waifus
I think Clash of the Clouds is a fun DLC. It’s pretty hard to win all the blue ribbon challenges in each wave though.
What?
So far I don’t have the slightest clue what the story is all about. I as well am gonna need to replay it later again it would seem. Too dumb for this stuff, admittedly.
He’s obviously saying that Elizibeth is his wife, but I honestly don’t know what this “Elizibeth” dude has to do with Bioshock Infinite.
