Best looking game you've ever played?

Perhaps I was too optimistic.

Are we talking rendering here, I’d say Crysis, Crytek is talented.

No I played the pc version. My problem with it was whenever you walked into an environment that required a gas mask there were tons of blur effects that looked cool, but hurt my eyes. And the creatures too; they got really blurry. It wasn’t bad graphics, just effects they had added in.

Everything looked fine to me, I never experienced any blur… I thought the gas mask parts were pretty awesome, as well. They were really tense because in addition to being attacked, you had to worry about your filters, and your gas mask breaking.

My eyes may just be sensitive. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, I had to give up on the game because when you are with the other guy (i forget his name) you get to a door and he says wait or something. And then he just sits there and never does anything and you can’t open the door. I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. I think it was because I was using a pirated copy. :pirate:

Yeah Crysis is beautiful. Thankfully I’m one of the blessed people with a big bad ass gaming rig that can handle it on very high without dropping below playable FPS.

But if you can’t, it’s kind of lame. You have this awesome game which looks beautiful but is so badly optimised there’s barely any pc’s that can handle it without making it look like a picture slide.

I don’t really feel like reading 9 pages, so i’m going to assume at least SOMEONE has said crysis, but what about crysis warhead? it’s an even MORE better engine (updated cryengine 2) so everything looks, feels and runs better. + lower requirements. way better than original, even though it was technically an expansion. but nonetheless, amazing graphics, gameplay (except AI=bs), but story, not the best.

you may have noticed I mentioned Crysis in the last post

Mass effect (both of them are beautiful)

in the warm pit of my heart.

My two very favourite games, I love a good story

But as for looks, I’ll go for an oldy: Simcity 4. Partially because its what you’ve built that comes to life, but when the sun goes down and your suburbs fill up with little pinpricks of light, its a very nice looking game

I am a big fan of games. I like to play games. It is my favourite time pass. Best looking game I have ever played is Need for speed. I love car racing games. Need for speed is so nice racing game. It has nice graphics and best looking tracks.

Final Fantasy XI had it’s moments (PC). Colorful and beautiful zones. Along with some good creatures to fill it with even though they were always the same model with some different color. Another one of mine was Crash Bandicoot for the PlayStation 1.

Forgot about Flower for the ps3. Very very pretty and fun to play as well.

I would definetely say the most beautiful game i’ve played was Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing. Deep in the game, it demonstrated a moral value, and wise thought, and idea.

… They just don’t make games like that anymore…

tehe… :3… lol

^ Holy piss that is just horrid. Why would someone pay money for that? I can get a better game on the iPhone for free…

I must say that Metro 2033 was one of best games for me since it also had a good gameplay and a great story, it was a littel bit to short but a fair description for me is: A solid copy for a Russian Half life 1

My favourites would have to be (in order of release):

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time:

Viva Pinata:

Mirror’s Edge:

and StarCraft II:

Starcraft II doesn’t really look any different than any other new RTS I’ve seen, however few they may be.

Even if that IS the case, it doesn’t make it any less pretty, amirite?

Allow me to reinforce the fact that Uncharted 2 is the best looking game ever made.

Crysis might hold the technological candle, but what Naughty Dog accomplished with a less advanced engine easily gives Crysis a run for its money.
