What’s the best, or some of the best games you’ve ever played.
Hopefully people can find some new interests and games to try out, or maybe start some debates.

FFVII - Not even going to rant about this one.

Superbrothers Sword and Sworcsorry EP - When I bought this game I really didn’t expect much, but it exceeded my expectations and then some. The gameplay, story, art, and music are all put together flawlessly. I can’t really describe it you should try it for your self.

Xenogears(PSX) - I never really got to finish this one(my disk broke), but the gameplay and story were superb. The combat system was the first of it’s time(correct me if I’m wrong).

Battlefield 3 - Despite what some people say this game will always have a special play in my library.

Counter - Strike 1.6 and Source : even though the hit boxes are complete shit sometimes, I’ve clocked alot of hours into gun game.

Jade Cocoon(PSX) - Just Imagine a cooler more mature version of Pokemon. Again I can’t describe it, something you should experience your self.

The Halo Series - I know some of you are against Halo and what-not I love the game and it’s changed console gaming.

There are craptons more I can think of, but I won’t cram it into one post.

Psychonauts, Doom 2, The Binding of Isaac, Super Mario World, Fallout New Vegas or Fallout 2 (cannot decide), Deus Ex Human Revolution, and Bulletstorm.

Half-Life 2 :smiley:

Bioshock 1(really really good), GTA San Andreas (I liked GTA Vice City but I think this defined the top of the GTA series, GTA IV is cool but didn’t enjoy as much as SA), Jak and Daxter Series(1-3), Sly Series (1-3), Amnesia (the game that made me like horror games), Uncharted series (good story, Hollywood style), first few games of Pokemon

Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted series, Heavy Rain, Fallout New Vegas, Mass Effect series, Max Payne series, GTA San Andreas, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Assassin’s Creed series, Soldier of Fortune 1, Quake 2, Unreal Tournament.

Rocket Knight Adventures, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, Xenogears, F.E.A.R.: First Encounter Assault Recon, Condemned: Criminal Origins, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (Any of them are good really but those are my favorites- the former for gameplay reasons, the latter for story), Metroid Prime, Mass Effect 2, Mirror’s Edge, Age of Empires II, Roller Coaster Tycoon/2, The Typing of the Dead, Max Payne 2, Burnout Revenge, Gears of War, Wipeout HD, F-Zero GX, Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, The World Ends With You, Half Life 2 (and Episodes), Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Urban Strike, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, The Operative: No One Lives Forever, Grand Theft Auto 4, Mech Assault, Alan Wake, Shadow Complex, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Rainbow Six: Vegas/2, Forza Motorsport 3, Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master, and Batman: Arkham Asylum, in no particular order.

I enjoyed all of these games, and they all had something special about them that endears them to my memory. It can be anything: a particularly well executed story (Xenogears, Persona 4, The World Ends With You), gameplay that pushes (or pushed) the medium to new places (Batman: Arkham Asylum, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the original Rainbow Six), or even just a particularly good example of a well-executed game, even if it isn’t that innovative(Star Wars: Republic Commando, Shinobi III, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker). Regardless of my reasoning, these games are all fun and have something to offer, so feel free to pick one up and give it a shot.

…Dear God, that’s a lot for a “Best of” list.

First time playing Dead Rising, RDR, BF3 Multi, Gmod, Rome: Total War, Oblivion/Skyrim, Portal 1 and 2, Farcry (The original), Ace Combat 5, TF2, Dayz, Company of Heroes, All Counter-Strike games, Minecraft, GTA IV, EVERY HALF-LIFE GAME BECAUSE THEY ARE FUCKING AMAZING, Fear, Every Assassin’s Creed, Old Wolfenstein games and a lot others. (I included some mods because they pretty much are games themselves so…)

Don’t know about best I’ve played, but the best game I’ve bought and is worth every cent would be Super Mario Galaxy.

The Fallout series has always been a personal favourite of mine, as well as Halo 2, that brings back some old memories and I also think Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis is one of the best park builders out there.

oh yeah. +Minecraft, Red Dead Redemption.
About the Assassin’s Creed it could be better. AC2 was just amazing but Brotherhood and Revelations were more of the same with no big leap in history terms as AC2 did. It only advances really in the ending part and in a cliffhanger :stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s see. The following games are the ones I’ve completed most times without ever feeling bored, so I guess they qualify as my favorite:

  • Duke Nukem 3D
  • Half-life 1
  • Deux Ex 1
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R

edit: I realize these are all FPS :slight_smile:
I do love RPG’s too (Arcanum, Morrowind, Fallout NV) but they’re the kind of game you play only once (at least for me).
Then there’s the RTS : Age of empires 1 & 2, Age of Mythologie, Warcraft 3. Played mostly multiplayer (no shit :smiley: )
