BBMIP:8.5

Static. If its automatically placed you have no control over where the engine places them so when you see grass etc that is random. These are compiled as one model then placed.

No animations planned.

Those are the missing blend texture objects then?

Looks good anyway

No.

Because l’m lazy…that we quit using 3rd party sites to post on the private site and I got into the habit of not using it.

I absolutely love the level of detail in these. Looks fantastic.

I actually don’t mind to see the screenshots in low resolution. Leaves some things to see for when I play the game.

Well lots of work over the last 2 days on the canyon. I got the skybox prop compiled and in game and while it looked good there was WAY too many trees. So I removed about 2/3 of them and added some more rock to break it up. It also turned up that we ran into lots of lighting issues using the multimodel approach to the bushes. So we are going to use single placed bushes.

Added some AO to the rocks to make it blend better and darkened the textures.

Stop it! You’re going to make me barf rainbows! Again!

Looks great!

Wow. Looks awesome!

Looks nice great job keep up the excellent work!

What most of you haven’t pointed out is how badly the bushes were lit… It is a real problem doing foliage in source. Mark Foreman pointed me to some ideas on it in the polycount wiki. I couldn’t get my new version of Max to run the scripts without crashes or just plain failing to load them. So I remodeled the bushes. Then spent 2.5 hours on a skype call with Bjorn to finally get the problem fixed. Here is the result. The lighting isn’t perfect but its much better.

I actually didn’t notice it before you pointed it out. But now that I see the results of the better lighting, I can now see what you’re talking about. It does look much better now. Great work!

I think no one mentioned it because everyone expected it from source :V

I knew there was something odd about them, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Looks much better now!

We had some clipping models in the skybox that needed to be removed so I took the opportunity to trade out the near and mid range bush models and rescale them so they blend in better. I think it makes a huge difference along with alphatocoverage.

That looks much better great job!

Very pretty!

Those rock textures are a massive improvement well done

Rock textures are unchanged…there are rocks added into the skybox though.
