Another short update. I did some texture work for MP this last week but also redid another model from AM. In looking at my texture from 5 years ago sadly it had some layers that were shall we say found on goggle which is a no no. So all questionable stuff has been removed and all “custom” work now. The gauges were a point of contention on the team when I did them and I have to agree they were too colorful and not appropriate. They are now all in keeping with much of the rest of the machinery. You won’t know this yet but they match up to Mark Foreman’ new models that are going into retail. So only 2 images. Clean AO and mostly done texture. Source has some crappy spec rendering so it will really need to be tweaked in game.

I also did a pass on the arms and the hev suit in dDo. It is much more used looking actually down right beat up might post a pic if I ever decide it add the skin to my local build.

Just a suggestion, take it or leave it, but I can’t help but think that the scientists at Black Mesa would use that open area in the bottom right of the panel in front of the HEV units to place a cup of coffee or whatever. Would be a neat little detail to add perhaps a ring or two of coffee stains on that area of the panel. :wink:

It was added in the detail pass its just hard to see because the surface is black…

Wow I hope I can model and texture like that someday! That looks awesome!

Might have been helpful to have the old one and the new one side by side for comparison, because I had a somewhat difficult time seeing what was different.

Did you read the first post? The texture was taken back to the basic diffuse layer and redone. ALL the gauges were redone i.e. Modeled. before they were all textures on a flat surface now they are all on specific geo.

Current engine shot all the others were from toolbag.
