BBMIP 10

It’s been a really busy couple of weeks at work and I haven’t had much time for BM, but I have managed to get a few things done this weekend. First we got the new inbound doors in game. Still needs material tweaking but shows promise.

Also on the redo front I mostly finished the redo of this prop. I think most of you should be able to guess this without much difficulty.

Nice, can’t wait to see completed texture!

Great work, what kind of look are you going for with the inbound doors? A bit more rust or a weathered look would be perfect in that area.

I agree, the finished material could definitely do with a more weathered look. I don’t imagine being pulled through metal who knows how many times a day would leave it so crisp and clean. Compare with the far dirtier hazard stripes on the ceiling and around the door itself (or just the area as a whole).

Whoa, the Lambda teleporter redo looks amazing!

It’s slightly weathered if you look closely (expand the images), but you reiterated what I said. He isn’t done yet, let’s give it some time.

Good XD

I’m not sure if you are joking or serious lol either way it’s a wrong guess.
Here is the 3rd one

On the door. Its very scratched and very weathered, you just can’t see it with it being all dark and all. There are some lighting issues in this build.

Pretty sure it was a joke.
I for the life of me can’t decide what that model is. It’s certainly not the magnetic reel silo server model. Perhaps one of the consoles from QE? I should replay BM.

I’m too lazy to look for it to get a good shot, but I think it’s these.

Also of course it was a joke.
It still does look good though.

I’ll take your word for it Brian, I still think it needs some patches of rust (provided there aren’t already - I didn’t see any when I looked closely at the image). As always, it’s up to you. Keep up the good work.

Edit: I saw some around the seams where the door’s moving parts meet (such as at the center) after a re-examination, which makes sense. I still think it needs a patch of rust or two on the doors themselves. Annd, it looks… flat in the images, I dunno, as you said it could be the lighting.

There isn’t any rust on the doors…there isn’t very much moisture in the desert that’s why the govt stores airplanes there they won’t rust or corrode.
@crypt…it is but they aren’t LC consoles…they are de-prodigy ones.

Good point. Rust is actually caused by oxidation fyi, water just accelerates the process. On the topic of rust, I just re-looked at the doors in the current version of BM. The new ones look a ton better by comparison… ignore what I said, and I do apologize.

Can’t really see it because of it being darker than shit though.

The old ones didn’t have any either…I know since I did the textures on those years ago. After Mark redid the… oh well you will have to wait to see what I was going to say, anyway the doors needed some more details. HLMV shot.

Now I’m kinda curious… Eh whatever, it’s my mistake, I look forward to more of your work.

I can’t seem to find any info on it, what’s the maximum texture size that source 2013 can handle if you know? I saw somewhere that EP1’s engine (2006 I believe) can handle up to 4096 for models (I think, don’t hold me to that).

Edit: Yeah, with it being lit up, you can see the little details.

No idea the largest I have tried is 2048x2. 4096 is just a waste. You could split the model up in to different parts and get 2 2048 and have just as good a detail if you UV right with half the memory hit (assuming 2 2048 maps vs 1 4096). Those are 2048. You get really close to these otherwise they would be much smaller.

Y’know, looking again, I think it might just be the shade of yellow. In the ingame screenshot it sort of pops against the rest of the area and it appears cleaner than it actually is. Seeing it by itself, it looks totally fine.

Yep. I don’t recall claiming they belong to LC, though :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s a big improvement. Great stuff!

helllo! how can i use this in game? i mean, will be released a patch or something? thank you for great work!!!

It’ll be available in the next revision of the game when they release it (there’s no solid release date yet and there won’t be until they’re damn well ready).
