I have both Mech Assault games for the original Xbox. In fact, Mech Assault 1 was the very first game I played for the Xbox.

Light, I went for the Puma variant of the Cougar. Sure, the missiles aren’t as good but you get nullsig.

Medium, Uziel with double PPCs and jumpjets. Or the Mad Dog variants in Lone Wolf. Autocannons are good mix between power and rapid fire, which is good for use in the medium chassis. Jammers for missiles are also essential if you want to stand a chance against heavy class mechs. Definitely want some extra speed so you can hit and run.

Stieletto with the flamethrower + null sig is great for the cool factor alone.

Heavy, I generally prefer things with PPCs or gauss guns as compared to LRMs. Mad Cats aren’t my most favorite choice. I liked the Blood Asp with the double PPCs, machine guns, and LRMs + Alpha Strike abilities from Mech Assault 2. Atlas variants are also a good pick, providing a good mix of protection and firepower.

I really wished you could drive the VTOL in single player.

Haven’t gotten to use Mechlab. Is that part of the PC series?

I remembered liking House Kurita in MA2. Sounded almost like new-age tribal warriors.

yes.

Hah, those ‘tribal warriors’ went to rule 1/4 of Inner Sphere space (as in Draconis Combine).
Me myself, I’m a fan of Steiner (Lyran Alliance) and Davion (FedCom). And their squables.

Word of Blake is our Solar system invaded by jihadists if you’re wondering. Blake himself found FedCom:

I found my mech vengance CD, I just installed that.

I also found out, that a Nova Cat with 6 bombast lazers can three hit a stock atlas. :awesome:

Unless it overheats prematurely, that is.
Bombasts are epic tho.

Mine didn’t.

I took a shitton of damage due to not having any armor though, so I was pretty much wrecked after that.

Well, there you go, Nova Cat (and Awesome) overheats constantly, even stock - that’s just how they were designed.
