Xalener, did you have any problem with your HUD not showing up? One of the servers I went on it came back eventually but for the most part there was no HUD and I couldn’t go into the main menu or scoreboard.
Bf3 for pc sucks, tried the beta cause i got moh limited edition. you really want to be forced to run origin, web browser, AND battle log client? for me that was upwards of half a gig of ram. and closing the game to change servers is rediculous. im not buying it unless i can at LEAST have a main menu for launching single player. i can get over it if its just the server browser but that shit is just too far.
I should NOT have to sign into an account and play something offline. i dont need permission from them. so fuck it. i dont care if the game is fucking amazing (which it actually isnt) i just wont support yet another phase of operation fuck-consumer-rights.
And i know what it is. its meant to control the consumer. just like bioware social network, they can revoke access to your games at any second. bioware bans people from playing their offline games if they say something like “EA sucks” on their website. and they can and WILL do the same shit here.
I saw a poll on EA uk forums. more than 3/4 said they liked it or didnt care. ea/dice fanboys and the ignorant will just lie down and take it in the ass and shit will get worse and worse as time goes on. do you remember 10 years ago where online drm didnt exist and mods were availible for ever game? and that you had the option to play lan and avoid internet connectivity always?
Times have changed. now we got activation limits, multiple internet accounts and mandatory social networking. Not to mention the system itself is unintuitive, wasteful, and just plain stupid. takes alot more effort than it should just to play the game. this crosses the line for me.This is just another crysis 2, even if they patch it and take out this shitty interface as well as fix the unbalanced classes and put teamwork of bf back into the game, I lost respect for them, screw Dice and of course as always, screw EA
Before you all go fanboying on me about this, I want to alert you to the fact that I am a really HUGE fan of the bf series, I have played since the very first game and loved every single one after it, I love…LOVED Dice for what they did with every single bf b4 this, bad company 2 although a bit simpler than bf2(cut down for consoles of course) was still a fun experience, albeit less players and less teamwork, but prettier visuals. I was REALLY REALLY looking forward to bf3, I have put so many hours into all the games, so much of my life, and I was hoping bf3 would be a true successor to bf2. Sadly they screwed up the class system so everyone plays sniper and assault, they oped both of them, made it with extremely less teamwork needed, they codified it imho, pretty visuals and sounds dont make up for badly balanced classes and little to no teamwork.
I don’t think you realize that you fit the profile of a stereotypical pro-dice fanboy right there. You fucking loved Battlefield 3 enough to subscribe to a forum that has nothing to do with battlefield and post a wall of text about it. No matter the context, you are the definition of hardcore fanass. Besides, the map was the biggest problem Operation Metro was NOT the map to release if they wanted people to play a BATTLEFIELD map and not a deleted map left over from Medal of Honor.
Plus I like battlelog and being able to copypasta links to servers to friends so you can all join together… because fucking party join never works because it’s a beta…
No hud problems at all.
Should’ve posted this on the official BF forums instead, but I guess it would just be yet another butthurt post about Origin/Battlelog in a sea of other thousands of posts like that and as such no one would even notice.
LOLUMAD?
Seriously, who cares if you have to close the game to change servers? It’s still faster to jump in and out of games than it was in BF2, and BC2, and no startup videos either.
And I like how you blame DICE and EA when clearly this is a move by EA. Dice really has no reason to make this stuff unless EA wants them to.
Maybe you should get more than 1 gig of RAM and you wouldn’t have to worry about something taking half a gig.
Also, this game is now running fantastic for me compared to the start of the beta. I don’t have any more drops in FPS (not sure if me oc-ing my CPU had anything to do with that) and pretty much zero lag even playing on servers with pings over 100. I also don’t have the disconnection problem I had with BC2 and earlier in the beta, at least recently.
Pretty much.
bawww i’m being inconvienienced people give me attention and agree with me on stupid shit that doesn’t matter plz
At the end of the day, it’s still Origin<Steam<Games that dont require any fancy online service just to actually play
While I would still prefer an in-game server browser and such, I have to admit that the Battlelog is kind of a good idea and probably will work better in the long run, since it can be updated and fixed more easily than an in-game interface.
Still, I hope they make an external game setup, so you can change the graphical settings without going into a game first.
As for Origin, eh, there’s much baaawww about it, but so far I haven’t had a problem with it and it’s practically invisible after you open the Battlelog.
So I updated my video drivers last night specifically for BF3, figuring the newest release would be fine. Apparently, I have to use beta drivers to play the BF3 beta.
I don’t mind trying out potentially buggy software before it’s released, but potentially buggy drivers that pretty much everything on my computer would rely on…why EA?
Apparently over 12 millions people played the BF3 beta (all platforms). Looks likes its gonna be huge when released.
12 million playing a completely free beta across 3 different platforms doesn’t mean even half of them are going to buy the game.
It also doesn’t mean that people not playing the beta aren’t going to play the game. This beta is hardly indicative of the players that will be there.
All I know is I’m getting my new GTX 560 tomorrow, so I’m going to hopefully be able to run BF3 on at least high. I’ve found out all of my issues are related to my framerate, even though it didn’t really look like a framerate issue.
I have a gtx 470 and can max it out completely with 40+ fps. Turn of all the AA and gain 10 fps. Doesn’t even matter to me as I play full rez.
BF3 isn’t the comp cruncher it claims to be.
I can run it on all high, shadows on medium at 1920x1200, 4x AA, at about 40 FPS average with one HD 5870. That’s on Metro though, Caspian was hovering at around 30 FPS.
Ah, ya see I never got to try caspian : (((((((((
It was :awesome: .
