Batman

After watching the movies, I played Arkham Asylum. Awesome Stuff. Probably going to start on Arkham City tonight. I much prefer the comic book style and plot (from what little I know of it) as opposed to the movies.

Thing is, there are so many years worth of Batman comics out there I don’t know where to begin. Hopefully not at the first issue.

So, to gain a full understanding of the Batman storyline and lore, what should I read? Where do I begin? In what order?

Are there multiple story arcs and alternate stories?

I am quite lost…

I honestly don’t believe Batman is worth gaining a full understanding of.

Just read around. Anything will do.

This page contains a listing of all known storylines involving this character.

Just watch the Justice League and one of the cartoon series. That is all.
As long as it’s not Batman Beyond you’re good.

I liked batman beyond

Batman is best super hero. While I agree that Batman isn’t worth gaining a full understanding of, if there was a superhero worth gaining a full understanding of, it would be Batman.

Batman: Parents killed by mugger.
Superman: Parents killed by exploding planet.
Spiderman: Parents killed arch-villain

The life of superheroes…harsh for the parents.

Note to self: Do not teach son and daughter how to fight and/or bathe them in radiation.

Thanks for the recommendations, I guess I’ll start with the major ones.

Batman Beyond was amazing, you dicknut.

It was, but from what I took from his post was that it didn’t add to Bruce’s backstory. It added to his futurestory.

There are really only two Batmen in my opinion:

Adam West and Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton was good in the new “gritty” version of Batman but I much prefer the Adam West campy Batman.

Sorry, but this is Batman, in my opinion.
