basicaly, barnacles are the creatures in hl2 that i’m verry comfused of the most.
forexample, how do hey get to the strange places they are? and such.
and forexample does the combine sends in barnacles in like headcrabs since there are so manny in route cannal where your escape route is?
and if they have a way of moving around when attatched.

IMO they grow from spores, like someone said in the “underwater barnacles” suggestion thread. Which, by the way, was an awesome suggestion.
Think of them as barnacles, as in this type.
They just cling onto whatever they can and reproduce from there. Kind of like moss, mushrooms or algae
Real life barnacles suck.

When looking at the Half-Life barnacles, either they grow on the ceiling from a small spore/larvae or they slowly crawl up there like slugs. I can’t think of anyhow else.
Mating orally? That’s no fun… Imagine u’d have2 use a condom on ure tongue O.o
Anyway Barnacles Irl wouldn’t be too dangerous… U don’t always have a roof above u so, and u don’t spend half of your life in dark tunnels and mines 
its gotta be spores like fungus but i do like the slug idea. or it could be the cacoon stage of a much larger barnicle beast we havent seen!

They were in a few cave parts. I recall a few inside a cave, near a waterfall, with a tentacle right outside it.
Be careful mentioning Op4 in these parts…
By the way the Spore idea was suggested by me… It’s not that unlikely really, considering the Barnacle is a giant mouth, I imagine at one stage of it’s life it just goes “BLEH” and shoots spores everywhere.
