So I love Baldur’s Gate, only real RPG I have probably.

Played the fuck out of Tales of the Sword Coast.

Anyway, was just doing some story reading on Wiki about The Time’s of Trouble.

And I noticed that on the main article for the game, was this quote.

“On 2 December 2008, Atari stated in a press conference that the Baldur’s Gate series (among others) would be revisited after 2009.”

I know it’s a bit old, but FUCK YEAH.

I’d be happy with a game done in the FO3 engine let alone its own.

Who else hopes this game makes it to the final product, I know I am.

I got BG2 for Christmas a year or two ago… Haven’t played it yet though.

BG’s quite easily the best game series I’ve ever played - the playstation titles were piles of mindless action balls, but Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 (original PC games) were something godsent!
I wouldn’t like a new game in the series though. Everything new since BG2 has been a disappointment so I don’t see why another PC title would change anything. Just play Neverwinter Nights.

Oddly enough, I just started re-re-replaying through BGII this past week, and I was struck at what a flippin wizard game it was. As much as I love Planescape Torment, Baldur’s Gate II just has a better overall feel to it; a groove, if you will.

As much as I’d like to revisit the world and characters, I really don’t see the story needing to be continued, the last expansion pack tied it up pretty well. Bioware keeps saying that Dragon Age (or whatever) is their spiritual successor to the Baldur’s Gate series, and that’s really all I need. Although it would be great to see Minsc and his miniature giant space hamster Boo rendered in full 3D, berserker-raging the hell out of the Sword Coast.
