What I’m saying is that, because they don’t condemn these people, these people feel that they’re getting acceptance from what they think is their “base”.
I don’t think Sarah Palin feels what they’re doing is okay. However, because she doesn’t vocally condemn these kinds of actions and/or rhetoric, these nutbags feel like what they’re doing is right. There needs to be a large campaign from the entire conservative sphere against these lunatics.

Unless you are entirely neutral, you’ll have a leaning towards one side of the political spectrum, and I don’t think anyone is neutral. Your problem is you are confusing ideas with physical groups. Liberalism and conservatism are the two sides of the political spectrum, while republicans and democrats are two concrete political parties.
