Ask us grown-ups

Well my dealer doesn’t sell anything else except beer, i wanted to make sure my dealer didn’t sell anything else so in this case it’s not a gateway drug. So yeah…

Gateway sucks. Are they even still in business? If so, that’s impressive.

No.

I know a lot of friends that are different people just through smoking that shit. They’ve all turned into paranoid aggressive twats, to the point where one went psycho at a mentally disabled guy on a bus. Out of everyone who started at around your age, they’ve either quit, turned into paranoid wrecks that nobody wants to waste their time with, or they’ve gone onto harder drugs. If you don’t want to drink, that’s fine, but why risk your mental health?

Sigh. A lot of people I know do marijuana regularly, and none of them are paranoid aggressive twats, nor have they gone psycho or gone onto harder drugs.
It does not risk your mental health.

This i know. Marijuana has much less effect mentally and physically than alcohol, thing is marijuana is illegal. That’s actually what I was getting at.

I’m pretty confident that it wasn’t marijuana that they smoked, maybe the marijuana was added with some shit that made them always want more.

or they were already in a bad place psychologically which prompted them to experiment with different kinds of drugs and to be assholes

or something

I think it depends on the type of weed… different strengths / chemical properties would have different psychological effects obviously.

Smoke loads, if you go nuts then it’s probably best to go back in time and tell yourself to stop. Alternatively you could simply neither drink or do drugs spending your time in quiet solitude, marvelling at the natural beauty of the world around you. Like a monk.

Nature?

I have never heard of that thing. I’ve been in this basement ever since I heard of Black Mesa Source.

Hey hey, this is the drugs discussion thread now?

If you’re 16 I don’t recommend using either. While starting to drink at a younger age could lead to problems with alcohol and dependency later in life, little is still known about marijuana’s interaction with younger people. Some theorize that it may lead to attention and learning problems later in life. I’m not a doctor nor a scientist, so take that with a grain of salt!

It’s obviously your choice and nobody can make it for you. If you’re going to smoke at least educate yourself on the potential risks and situations you could be putting yourself in. I wouldn’t worry about mental health issues; the only times I’ve heard or seen of mental problems caused by marijuana is in people that already have a preexisting condition that they should have been hospitalized or at least treated for in the first place.

In all reality smoking marijuana is probably safer; unlike alcohol you can’t smoke too much and overdose and kill yourself. You’re doing harm to different parts of your body, though, so the term ‘safer’ isn’t quite right. You also run into issues with legality in most parts of the world, that could be reason enough not to smoke at all.

In my experience, smoking weed at around the age of 15/16 is defiantly not a good idea.

Alot of people I know only smoke it because they think it’s ‘cool’ and stuff, I can accept it as something to casually/privately do if you do have problems, but I don’t like the people who try and throw it in your face like it’s an apple product.

I’m giving my experiences with it, not saying it’s a universal truth

I know exactly what they smoked, mainly because one guy used to grow it for them.

This isn’t the place for a drugs debate. But in a thread about adulthood, I honestly can’t believe people are telling a 16 year old kid that it’s OK to smoke weed

I know I should’nt, But, what are those things going up your nose?

Don’t smoke weed, kids.

Generally speaking, how long should one be in a relationship before they consider marriage? I was once in a stable, fairly serious relationship for about a year and a half, and I had started to consider at least putting forward the idea of the question. Before I could, however, she wanted to end it. Needless to say, this sort of shook my confidence. You think you know someone… Anyway, should I wait longer in the future? Before I even ask, what things should I have in order? Financially? (Start-up capital, if you will) In/out of school? Anything else you could think of?

I’m not sure if I should start, 5 of my friends are doing this and they’re all fine.

But, believe it or not, I’ve been reading these forums for about 6 months now and i trust the advice you guys give rather than my friends advice…

it is all down hill from here.

Do whatever you want, but I’d stay away from drugs. Even the “light” ones can be dangerous, especially because you don’t know what the dealer’s put into it as filler. All drugs are like cigarettes, they’re fill of extra crap that could kill you.

Added onto that, every drug can potentially be addictive, and it’s a waste of money you could spend on food, games, or gas.

Also, nobody likes a druggie.

Obviously you have to get it from a source you trust.

The way you said kind of gave another impression, my bad.

I have no idea what you mean.

@the marriage guy: if you’re an adolescent you shouldn’t even be considering marriage. At all. Other than that, if you both love eachother etc., get married if you’re both sure you’re ready and you want to if you find marriage important.

I think he means your avatar. He thinks it’s you?
