I judged them “after” I interacted with them, most of them are like : haha we live in a civilized World and you sand nigga live in huts alongside your backwarded people and religion haha, now tell me how would you feel if you were this “sand nigga” ?
Hey, I’m not a moron
I’d say that has more to do with the fact that those people are morons, assholes, and racists, than with whether or not they’re atheists.
will that is partially true, but according to my observations, Christians and Atheists have really Ill relationships, more than Muslims or any other religious people
What do you mean by “ill relationships,” and what kind of observations are you talking about?
I haven’t seen any difference in “ill relationships” between Christians, Muslims or atheists around here, and there’s plenty of all of them (although Christians are probably a minority, or they just don’t show it).
Racist =/= Atheist
I’d even go as far as saying that quite a few racists are actually religious (but of course, not all religious are racists).
Atheists aren’t this way for no reason whatsoever. Do you know where this perceived closed-mindedness comes from?
I didn’t mean they’re here, man have you seen these sick videos in Ytube ?
I mean for all these years I’ve watched, tried to defend my religion and got hijacked very very powerfully, but I’ve seen their aggressiveness to each other both in Ytube, here and many other forums
If you take any video or image insulting race, religion or nationality on the internet seriously and you’ve made a pretty big blunder. Of all the crap out there I’d say only a small minority of offensive material has any true personal opinion behind it.
Shadi: I’ve found the anti-atheist mindset FAR more broad and overarching than the anti-theist mindset. I mean, for crying out loud, you have a PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES that think that atheists should not be even be considered citizens! Atheists are considered the most untrustworthy group of any group polled.
I mean, for Pete’s sake, I try to sidestep conversations about religion at work because I’m scared that I’ll have to reveal that I’m an atheist which would cause a rift between me and my coworkers. Should anyone have to live like that?
So, I go on the Internet to express my displeasure and I’m trashed six ways to Sunday, claiming that I’m “arrogant”, that I’m “vicious”, that I’m “bashing religion” or that I’m a “degenerate”.
If only religious people got a hundredth of what atheists have to put up with…
that is surly rough, but btw did you miss this part ?
I didn’t miss it and I thank you. It still doesn’t make up for all the shit I’ve had to put up with since I decided to simply make it known I was an atheist (without saying anything against religion). I have lost friends to it! Have you ever had that experience if you tell someone you’re Muslim?
The “arrogance” that you see on many fora outside this one is caused by atheists getting spat upon simply for being atheists and we’re tired of it. We’re tired of being compared to Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot and…get this: Satan. We’re tired of being told that we’re lying. We’re tired of being told that we hate a god we don’t believe in. We’re tired of being talked down to like we don’t know what we’re talking about (“have you even read the Bible/Qur’an?”). So, we post on the Internet. And we’re spat upon some more.
Glorious, isn’t it?
Let me know if you have had experiences like this.
I just love these little difference between different countries. We’re technically part of the same culture (the Western civilization, broadly spoken), but when you say you’re an atheist over here, the general response is “ah well”, you can even call God the filth of the earth and most hardcore Christians would still go “ah well”.
Bolteh: In the United States, you get this:
and
I wish that all I had to put up with was being called an insulting term similar to “sand n***a”. Would be nice and refreshing.
hehe. They blame crime on atheists xD
daniel, here in Australia, I haven’t seen any hint at all of discrimination against atheists. Here, your typical white Aussie is either Christian or atheist or somewhere in between. As long as you love getting drunk, no one really cares.
And, thusly, I believe that those that Shadi was talking about, the anti-theist, is largely an American thing borne from how atheists are treated in the United States.
As for other anti-theists? Well, you’re going to find asshattery everywhere. It just seems, to me, like asshattery in the name of religion is okay, for some reason.
So, anyway. Back on topic:
Is the Qur’an a factual book or is it parable and why?
