Ask a Muslim!

yup that’s right, though I don’t really know why but all I know that Men pray on the first line and women in the back

Not necessarily the back, just away from the men, where they can’t see each other during the prayer.

Okay, that. Do you agree with it/think it’s unfair/other opinion?

And what is your own personal opinion regarding Jews, from a religious and social perspective?

I don’t see how its unfair. Both sexes are still praying and showing their devotion to God.

Judaism is just another religion like Christianity, Hinduism etc. We have our different views about God, and I don’t treat them any differently than I would anyone else.

what about in the sense that it’s basically another “Men telling women to do this/be this way” type setup

(Yeah… because women NEVER tell men what to do… (Had to … hahaha)

Men aren’t telling the women to do anything. It’s written in the Quran (or hadith, I’m not sure which) that during prayer, that men must pray away from women, or at least that they should be praying out of sight of each other. This generally means in another room.

When I used to live in Adelaide, there was this big, million-dollar mosque which had half an upper floor dedicated for womens prayer.

we have lotta of them here in Jordan

and Thanks soup, you made people get back on track and asked very good questions

Was watching a dialogue between a Muslim that’s been living in Belgium pretty much his entire life. He’s still completely Muslim in terms of believes, but has come to peace with the idea that not everyone is Muslim.

For one, regarding the Danish cartoon of Muhammad (that I posted quite some time ago), he said that he has no issues with the artist drawing that, because he isn’t Muslim, and thus should not hold himself to Muslim laws. So he was and is free to express himself any way he wants to.

Another point that came into the conversation was humour within the Islam. They showed some clips of a female Muslim standup comedian. She talked about she hasn’t touched a drop of alcohol in her life, but has done shitloads of XTC because the Qu’ran doesn’t say anything regarding the use of XTC.

She also explained that people often ask her why her mother walks 10 yards behind her father, to which she often jokingly replies “she prefers the look of his backside”. But the real reason is that the father acts as a minesweeper, so if he blows up, the mother is save.

What is your opinion on these people? As far as I can remember, you were outraged by the idea that someone drew a cartoon that depicts Muhammad. These people also look upon their religion the same way a lot of modern Christians do (make fun of it, or use it for humorous purposes), so they understand that not everything has to be so uptight.

I believe it’s the same in a synagogue, where women are seated on an upper level.

Huh, I didn’t know that…

So yeah, Shadi, what’s your opinion?

people sometimes mistake Hypocrisy for Freedom of Speech, I just don’t get it how drawing the most sacred Symbol of Islam and putting a bomb-turban on his head is considered Humor ? it’s just pure hypocrisy and a mockery to Billions of Muslims around the World and the Artist knew that.

Or maybe non-Muslims don’t take it very seriously at all? I don’t see how it’s hypocritical at all.

my mind gravitates to the numerous Jesus memes…

I already know you mad about that, I meant the segregation of sexes in Mosques.

Also, I don’t see how it’s hypocrisy.

ahhh my opinion is the same as this guy

as for the Hypocrisy when that Artist drew that sketch, He INTENDED on mocking Muslims and he and his followers kept using excuses such as freedom of Speech in responses to the Agitated Muslim Media.

To be fair, it’s not really hard to agitate Muslims, now is it?

I’m probably agitating a fair share of Muslims right now by drinking beer.

Shadi and any other Muslim Forum dweller for that matter, I’d like to know your opinion of the following video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIMifWU5ucU

P.S.

Look at this.

You know, there are some limits to the “freedom of speech”, I know some Christians that are very disgusted from the mockery of Jesus in South Park. It’s like someone would take a shit on your face - no really a big harm done but you want to drown the madafaka who did this in his own piss.

But I’m asking what is in Qur’an that is also in Bible. There is probably no history of Israel in it, because why would there be? I imagine that there can be some parts from Genesis, but I don’t really know, that’s why I’m asking.
