Ask a Jew

The last piece to the puzzle. I haven’t seen this thread yet.

Keep in mind of my background: I am being raised as a Jew. I went to synagogue, K-12 (am currently in 9th) in a Jewish school, etc. etc.
By faith, I consider myself agnostic (don’t call me atheist, agnostic vs. atheist is a debate I already took part in a different thread). As in, I just refuse to make up my mind whether god exists or not. He easily could, but then again he might not.

So that means that I can answer your questions thoroughly while being impartial to the matter.

Ask away if you must.

So… um… how’s that whole circumcision thing working out for you?

haha owned!

in b4 people claim that circumcision is not related to being jewish

u guise maek me giggul

Pretty well, considering that girls generally prefer circumcised over vanilla.

I’m circumcised, and no one in my family is Jewish.

But anyway, why did you bastards give me a huge nose?

P.S. Just in case you can’t tell, I really have nothing against Jews.

What? I thought chicks would dig a vanilla flavoured penis.

I now understand why you asked what my thoughts were concerning the Jewish folks on the other threads - You were certainly welcome to reply to the question of why you asked in the first place, but I understand now.

(Good on you for being willing to answer some questions - It speaks well of you)

Forgive my ignorance, but I am curious… to the Jewish thought, the rest of the books in the OT, (After the first five) are they vital to the Jewish faith, or… how are they viewed? I mean really… Is Jonah considered part of foundational Jewish belief? Why I ask, is because in the text, it is a book showing the great mercy of God - How is something like this (Or even the book of Ruth), looked on from the Jewish frame?

I should think of great importance, but I would rather ask, than assume. So, if you don’t, what are your thoughts on this?

Do you guys consider Halal meat as Kosher? I know that a lot of Muslims believe that Kosher meat can be regarded as Halal.

So it is an “ask a jew” thread, but you hold no jewish beliefs? Why the thread then?

Ask an old Jew?

lol! :s hrug: mkay. I just thought it ironic. Sort of like… ask a christian, but yeah I am not a christian.:retard:

meh if Noteanaminator’s wall o’text “answers” in Ask A Christian are Kosher, him allegedly not being a Christian, I don’t really see the irony in this thread considering the OP is actually Jewish, if not practicing. Also, I started the ‘Ask A Buddhist’ thread simply because I’m interested in Buddhism and know a bit about it, not because I’m necessarily a devout practicing Buddhist.

Yeah, these threads are here to share knowledge and insights, so to speak. It shouldn’t be a problem if that knowledge or those insights come from someone who doesn’t actually support it.

Note didnt actually CREATE the thread tho. Meh … no skin off my nose tho. :stuck_out_tongue:

To be honest, I think the fact that I’m not a practicing Jew would only make my responses more complete and impartial.

No. They’re too stubborn.

I’m sorry to say I’ve never heard of “halal”.

It’s the muslim version of kosher.
