Ask a Homosexual

:awesome:
God I love the Onion.

Have we really managed to make “7” a staple answer to every quantitative question?

Apparently so.

Sorry for the necro, but Danson… If some dumb-ass were to try and club him in the name of the “Christian” religion, then I doubt like hell that they are “Christian” in the fist place. Narrowminded, legalistic, self important, blind, mess up, pre-despossed to being violent, needing a good kick in the crotch perhaps… but Christian? Not a chance mate. Just sayin.

It is of course horrid how some will stand on a soap box while all the while, ignore thieir own issues - but you find you that in every group.

“No Scotsman puts honey in his porridge.”
“But Angus is from Scotland and he puts honey in his porridge.”
No TRUE Scotsman puts honey in his porridge.”

Christian Charity helps feed non-gay Africans

Isn’t that nice?

Hahaha… Hmmm well, I suppose it depends if one is talking politics, or Grace. Personally, I rather the like the kick in the crotch bit, for the dumb-asses - but there it is.

Danson,

The video would not play for me. I just find it sad when ALL folks get painted with an unfair/false brush. I think it comes down to pre-dispostion being a major factor. No doubt that many in the Church are out of line in how aggresive they get in trying to express their veiws. There is good and not so good in every group.

I would think those that deserve a swift kick in the crotch are true Christians along with the rest of the Christian world. They honestly believe what they’re doing is the work of God. Look up “Army of God” (not while you’re eating and their website is definitely not safe for work or for minors).

To me, simply calling oneself “Christian” or believing in the Christian God is kind of irrelevant when talking about morals and how one acts. The argument comes into play when one assumes that one is moral or immoral based solely on whether one is religious or not. Too many people believe that “finding God” means that you’re going to stop being immoral and it actually helps in the legal world. “Finding God” is a quick and easy argument in parole hearings in jails.

It is the assumption of morality based upon what one calls themselves that I have a problem with. And it’s the assumption of immorality as well. I’m an atheist, therefore I must be immoral. You’re a Christian, therefore you must be moral.

And I don’t cotton to that.

Danielsangeo,

Once again, you offer what is reasonable, and right. The whole idea that claiming one is moral simply because they claim this or that system of belief is false. Atheist or agnostic, monotheist or pantheist, means nothing in real time. The choices we make are the measure of what is actually happening in a person’s life, not what they think. Daniel, we sometimes do not agree, but I always appreciate your thinking.

I’d agree with Note-anator if it weren’t for the fact that there are so many Christians like that. I’m far from saying they’re the majority, but there’s quite a significant chunk, big enough that they can’t be considered outsiders of the group.

How did I not see this thread before?
I work part-time as a sexual health advisor for young people, LGBTQ is covered to make young people understand that being gay is not like being born with a disability or something.
Here are the most common questions gays in my area get asked (lol):

  1. What do you think is the cause of your homosexuality?
  2. When did you first realise that you might be homosexual?
  3. Have you told your parents?
  4. Are there others like you in your family?
  5. Would you say that you had an inadequate mother or father figure?
  6. Don’t you think your homosexuality might just be a phase that you are going through?
  7. Are you afraid of members of the opposite sex?
  8. Isn’t it possible you just need a good straight lover?
  9. So… …what do you actually do in bed?
  10. You put what where?!
  11. But how can people of the same sex please each other when they are so emotionally and physically similar?
  12. Divorce rates are spiralling, why are there so few stable relationships between heterosexuals?
  13. Is it because you think heterosexuals are so promiscuous?
  14. Have you considered aversion therapy for your homosexuality?
  15. Why do you insist on making your relationships so public?
  16. Would you feel comfortable having your child educated by a homosexual teacher? The fact is that 90& of child molesters identify as heterosexuals.
  17. Are you not scared of catching HIV/AIDS?

This list is what young gays (Lesbians and bis included) are most commonly asked, the activity is; reverse it and ask this stuff to heterosexuals about heterosexuality, however I had to retype it as it could upset homosexual young people that would have to do this activity about heterosexuals when they are not open about their sexuality, so now it’s about “sexuality” and the questions are now sexuality ambiguous.

Brother Soup, I am meaning to where they would do violence against another person. Folks disagree all the time. We all have opinions concerning this or that, and it is a good thing - that is what makes life so interesting. But when a person would do violence against another simply because they do not agree… that is pathecic and very small indeed.

I would be happy to be the one to offer such a kick in the crotch for the one who would claim that they are a Christian, and yet try and injure someone else in the name of Christ - such a beating would be deserved - and just maybe, it would actually help break through the dogma, so the dumb-ass would have to rethink their actions.

More than likely they’d just end up seeing themselves as martyrs, sadly.

Soup: You are sadly correct. If they get their ass kicked, they’ll see themselves as being “persecuted” as Christ was and make them even MORE steadfast in their beliefs.

Yeah… thinking about it, you are correct.

“And all of heaven weeps for the foolish and small - Waiting paciently for the human buds to bloom into maturity”

So kill all of them. Problem solved.

Killing them all takes too long and doesn’t really work.

No, no, no. Kill everyone, that’ll solve it.

Too much work.

Yeah, especially when they will eventually kill off each other much faster and more efficiently.
