So you are not christian you are just whatever religion you have made up based loosely on christianity? That’s like making up a company called Aperture Science that is loosely based on the real Aperture Science except the real Aperture Science isn;t real anyway.

Mostly because the red hat has proof that it is red. The existance of god has no proof. So really the Red hat would be evolution and science etc and saying it is blue is saying that god did it.

Also I seriously hope you never get the chance to procreate. Christian parents are the reason we can’t have nice things.

The colour of your hat is independently verifiable. It is testable. Any claim as to the colour of the hat is something that can be investigated.

So, you are saying that even if someone provided you with concrete information that you were incorrect, that you would not be swayed? I’m afraid this is where the conversation must end because you just admitted that you aren’t a rational person. Without the possibility of rational discussion, I’m afraid you must excuse yourself. You are simply unable to participate in a conversation that will be of any value to anyone but yourself.

Yep, I believe that the hat is red and I’ll tell anyone I meet that the hat is red. Why don’t I say it’s “blue”? Because there is evidence that the hat is red. It can be verified by multiple people and, even, non-people.

If I program a computer to recognize wavelengths of light approximately in the 630 and 740nm range as “Red”, then I show the computer the hat under normal white light, it will report “red”. Because it sees that the light bouncing off the hat and into the sensor is in the 630-740nm range.

I would like to see some sort of independent “test” for a deity and then I’ll run that test and believe. This test, of course, cannot have other answers, though.

You are missing the point. You are admitting that you aren’t approaching this rationally. There IS evidence that many of the writings in the bible are FALSE. Demonstrably false. You are saying that you would ignore such evidence because it disagrees with your belief. This means that you are no longer able to participate in rational discussion because you aren’t being rational.

It would be similar to saying you are a potato. If you ignore all the evidence I present to you indicating you are NOT a potato, because it disagrees with what you believe…well then you are simply someone who I or any other reasonable person cannot communicate with.

I decided when I was 6-years-old that a specific tree in our yard was mystical, but I soon rescinded that opinion because there wasn’t any reason that tree was any more holy than the one next to it.

If I had refused to change my opinion about religion, then I’d be stuck with the first concept that came to mind. I’m happy that I didn’t convince myself to worship that tree for the rest of my life just because the idea was religious. It’s impossible to say there wasn’t a god in that particular tree and none others, but you can see how it was an absurd idea.

While there’s no reason any tree is holier than the rest, the same holds true with collections of words. There is no reason a particular work is any more holy than another book. Be willing to change for a moment. For just a moment, forget what you have convinced yourself of (and look at it rationally), just as I forgot why that tree had any significance (and realized why it was silly to believe that).

Look at what you’re doing, but without your promise to always believe in it. See if you, yourself, find that it makes sense (instead of your old idea convincing you that it makes sense).

You are letting your life go away and losing your only opportunity to search for the truth because of your pride that prevents you from acknowledging the simplest truth in the universe: you might be wrong!

Don’t you think God might send you to hell because of this? You said yourself that you are probably going to hell, don’t you want to change so that you actually have a chance to go to heaven?

I don’t search mistakes in bible but the ways to improve my behavior and correct my mistakes. but I think that catholic bible is changed, they have changed lot of things in original Christianity.
